Hiya

E and I am getting married next year and decided not to have a big holiday as we have so much to pay out for. Neway asked for bluewater vouchers for our engagment party and have decided to add them to a cheeky little holiday.

Neway my questions is where??? I have been to stacks of places in your normal package places with mates, greek islands, lots of places in europe, canaries think you get the idea. I want to go somewhere a bit nicer (not being snobby but i reserve the drinking holidays for mates hehe) and i think e would agree.

So any ideas, dont want to spend a fortune, want something relaxing that is cheap but a bit more special. I have been bahamas which was ok so maybe that idea not real sure, also prob still be a little bit to expensive. Really wanted Mexico but that is out this year cos of cash.

We have to book in travel agents cos of the vouchers so not cheap deals for us on line. Also i think we may go for Sep/Oct so have to take weather into consideration and prob only for a week.

Maybe somewhere in the US!

God that was a long question!!! :confused2 sorry lol

Any ideas would be great

This might be an obvious answer but given the time of year you are going why not Florida?

It is outside school holidays (lucky you) and you may well be able to get a super deal.

Happy hunting.

Why not Mexico?:erm:
We like nice hotels and stayed in the Riu Tequila in Playacar last year, it was loverly, beautiful beach nearby and plenty to do (much nicer than Cancun, unless you like plenty of nightclubs etc).
We paid £2,000 but that was with upgrades on the plane and was the best holiday we've had, fab for a honeymoon.
Take a look at Portland Direct website (part of Thomsons but cheaper;) )
If that's where you want to go, there are deals out there (if finances will allow of course:D )
Good luck with the wedding and everything and let us know what you decide:wave:
ps We went in September and weather was fantastic

You could try Cuba maybe? Can combine history of Havana with an all-incl. beach holiday.

Hi guys

thanks for you tips.

Florida - would not go back to Orlando for a few years again until things have changed a bit also would like a relaxing holiday. Considering naples or something like that

Mexico - did not really want to spend that much was thinking like £500 each for a week at a push as i have 2 littl trips aborad this year with mates and e has one to so got to be cheap. Would love to go though. good to know about place and weather nicky thanks

Cuba - did think about that, have you been?

We may end up going something like canaries but i would rather do more americany sort of place

We've been to Cuba! It was fantastic! We spent 4 days in Havana which was amazing - lots to see and do and then we had 10 days all inclusive at a 5 star resort (no one under 16 allowed in) in Cayo Coco which was bliss. We even swam with Dolphins in the wild! We would definately recommend Cuba (it was our favourite holiday)

I've not been to any of these places but from the adverts I see it always seems that a holiday can be had in Mexico (Cancun type area), Dominican Republic or Cuba for far less than similar Carribean destinations. I reckon you'd pull up a week half board or all inclusive for about £500 a head given you're looking to go out of the main school holidays.

It's quite a long way to go for a week, obviously, but I had a great week in Jamaica before and the travel time did not seem to be an issue.
