We went to Horse World in Poinciana, about 10 minutes drive from Kissimmee, last year. Very good for all levels. Great guides and trails.

Thanks for that:grin: :thumbs-up
The american style of riding is very differernt to ours so it maybe better for you if you are a novice. The trails are very easy to ride. The horses are very docile for beginners. A guide goes out with you and lead the way your horse follows at a comfortable distance.

I'd never ridden a horse and neither had my five year olds. But it was tailored for us and the horse selected to suit too.
We had a great time, very relaxed and care free way to spend an afternoon.
I have lost my thread that I started about horse riding in Orlando. I am def going to do it. I'm booking in September too! I can't decide if I should book Horseworld or this one:

It does look posh but really good. Prices aren't all that different.

I grant you that the Grand Cypress looks very nice indeed. Having read all of the instructors qualifications none of them hold anything more than the BHS Assistant Instructors Certificate (which i hold myself). If its classical seat riding you want as opposed to 'western style' you can get private lessons in England with higher qualified instructors for less than £50 per hour!! (G/Cypress charge $100 per hour/lesson)
I looked at Horseworld last time we were in florida but never actually got to go, i have been reserching this as i definately want to take my daughter this year and floridaeco-safaris/adventure.horseback (google search!) will be getting my vote!.
We want to experience American style riding, as they say 'when in Rome, do as the Romans!. My dad and i are also going on the 2 day/1 night horseback safari!!, thats 3 hours riding each day, 3 meals and camping out/bunk house accomodation over night and includes some 'rounding up' all for $199 !, sounds like a deal to me!..
I have been looking at both the riding options and as I can't go on the safari one due to my 2 small children & allergic partner! I will be booking the Horseworld advanced trail. This will be the highlight of my hols. Apart from seeing my children's faces when they see Mickey mouse & Scooby Doo!
