A member of our party wants to visit this while we are over there. Anyone been and have a view about it they'd like to share?

Anyone care to guess how long it would take to get there from WDW?

Tia.

Sorry haven't been to Dali, but it takes approx 1 hour 30 mins to get to St Petersburg. The roads are very well signposted.

I'm a big Dali fan and tought the museum was AWESOME! My Dh didn't really know who Dali was before the trip (philistine! :nonono: ) but he really enjoyed it too! Definatly worth a trip! :thumbs-up

We visited it a couple of years ago and it was fab! My DH didn't know who Dali was either but really enjoyed it. We spend a good couple of hours touring it. Don't know how far from Disney cause we were staying in St Petes

We went to the Dali Museum in 2000 and it was very good. We'd seen Dali paintings and his sculptures in books but seeing some in the 'flesh' was amazing and well worth doing.

Can't help with the travel part as we drove from Longboat Key to there but remember it was fairly easy to find and was signposted once in St. Petersburg.

It'll probably take about 2 hours from the Disney area - but it's well worth it! They do change the exhibits quite often, so you never see the exact same pictures if you go more than once.

You can get money off coupons and directions from their website...

I went back in the 80's and it's a great place to visit if you are a fan.

(Alison sat outside in the foyer with a book!)

Have now seen most of Dali's works now apart from those in private hands.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. Any idea how long to allow to see it all? And is there somewhere there to eat?

Thanks again.

It took us about 3 hours I think - but we'd got a 4 year old in tow - I'd probably have taken longer if not!

As for food - I can't remember if there was a cafe at the museum but I know we ate at a pavement cafe just up the road (on the way back to the 'Pyramid' where we'd parked. The food was great! It was on a plaza bit and DH and I had the best phillycheesesteak sandwich I've ever tasted!
