can anyone tell me if its worth a trip to cypress gardens I. have just read about it in the brits guide but cannot make up my mind
Most definitely. Click on my trip report and I have a day at Cypress Gardens and we all loved it - the kids rated it in their top 3 things of Florida.
Hi,
Give it a go, it makes a nice change from the frenetic theme parks and it is a beautiful place.

This park can use all the visitors it can take. It was one of the first parks for Central Florida and it was to close until the public really kicked up a fuss about it. The Governor stepped in and saved it from closing and another person came in and has tried to bring it back to life.
Sadly the park isn't convenient to town like the others are so it often goes unnoticed. It is between Orlando and Tampa (closer to Orlando) and it is a great place for a slow enjoyable day with some fun rides.
For those that look for country music options (I know there are a few of you) be sure to check their schedule. They often have concerts in the park and they are just a bonus to the day.

Definitely worth the (easy) drive. Don't expect extreme rides -it's more like a fairground. A lot more laid back than Disney or Universal which makes for a relaxing day out. There were no queues for any of the rides when we were there and we enjoyed the water-ski show and just having a nice wander round.

It's only about 30 miles from the 192/27 junction, and a very easy drive. Well worth going for a relaxing day out.
If you can go when the water park is open it's even better.
We bought annual passes last year for about $80 each - fabulous value as you get free parking and discount off food and items bought in the shops...
