Portugal - Praia de Rocha

Hi,

Anyone been to Praia de Rocha in Portugal? In particular stayed in the 5* Algarve Casino Hotel? I've had a look on trip adviser and holidays uncovered, most reviews seem positive but just looking for the DIBB opinion!:pgig:

We have stayed in Praia da Rocha (well just on the outskirts) and I was pleasantly surprised as I was quite worried about it's reputation. It is quite built up and the Casino is right in the middle of the town but the beaches are gorgeous, as they are all along the Algarve. There are some really nice restaurants as well as the normal touristy places and if you are happy to hire a car it is easy to visit some really beautiful places. The casino looks really nice but I can only judge from the outside, as I said it is right in the middle of the strip but whether you take that as a positive or a negative is pretty subjective

If I had the choice I would look to stay more towards Alvor, but thats because I prefer less built up places.

:spin: We stayed there during Euro 2004. Was fantastic. Beach was brilliant. Went to casino one night for dinner and a show and afterwards into the casino to play a few hands. Casino was beautiful, did not see any of the hotel rooms though.

Hi We stayed there a few years Back......Horrible!!!.mainly the Hotel..but if it is a Beach holiday you want then fine as the beach was great......but too many negatives for us.....sorry
