Hi Guys

Hubby and I are off for a short break to Dubai in 6 weeks:grin:

I have no idea what is the dress code there! I know shorts in Town would be a no no, but will knee lenght skirts be OK?, or 3/4 lenght trousers?.

Any info would be great

Hi,i'm going in august and have been advised not to show bare legs and top regions. So halter necks ect a no ,no.What you have planned to wear is fine.

Really? It doesn't sound like she plans to wear anything on her top half! ;)

I'd be careful being 'affectionate' in public, friends of mine got ticked off by the local police for holding hands walking down the street:omg:
And they're both the wrong side of 50.........

Thanks Guys

I guess a shopping trip is needed as I have loads of shorts and vest tops, but not a lot of stuff that sounds suitable. It will be nice to have a couple of dressy summer outfits, not sure hubbys credit card will be !!! Just need to find stuff before we go in Mid March

Thanks again

Just back from dubai, its only around the souks i would say cover up well, the malls are all air condtioned and i was cold in my 3/4 pants plus even in the malls they dress up compared to alot of places like florida!! don't go shopping before you go though as the shops are fab!!! at night linen trouser nice top is fine and men my other half wore jeans and shirt or linen pants and that was fine there are certain restruants that only let u in with shirts on and some say jacket but we never went so wouldn't knwo how strict they are!

Dear Csisson

Thanks for your reply:grin:

I have got a couple of pairs of linen trousers and a couple of longer lenght skirts as well as several pairs of cropped trousers I am going to get a few more new t.shirts as I will have all our summers wear out of them too.

We are only going for 7 days and have to fit in a family visit too so time at the souks and mall might be limited. I am so looking forward to this break as it is the first time in 10 years hubby and I have had a break away together.

Thanks again

Karen
