Hi there, not stayed at the Wynn, but went to see it last Jan, beautifull, spotless and relaxed. There are photo's of the various room on the Wynn website, they look fantastic. If you go on to V-flyer the Vegas forum has some people on it who have stayed there, in fact I think there is a recent thread.
Upper Class to Vegas huh, your gonna love it;)
Hi Egg,
Thanks for that. This will be my first trip in UC, can't wait.

I had a meal at The Top of the World at the Strat it was awsome, more awsome was a meal at The Bellagio at Prime, right behind the fountains, fantastic.
Got front row seats at Celines show, she spoke to us bless her.

Didn't see any children to be honest, but that might have been more to do with the price, they are not cheap restaurants. If you go on individual hotel websites you can search the restaurants and book them on line ( required for the famous ones ) if there are any age limits it will say.
So your treating your kids to UCS, they are so lucky, I am treating my 8 year old nephew to Upper in Oct, he is very well mannered too. Be sure to take them to Circus Circus for the rides and Treasure Island to see the pirate ships in action. Also they might like the helicopter ride in to the G canyon.
I assume you are going from Gatwick and will get to use the lounge, don't forget you can pre book your treatments through the VA website link. Geez you have me all exited now, lol.

I love white knuckeled rides and have 'done' all the ones on the strip including those on top of the Stratosphere - mad or what.
There are some stomach churners in Circus Circus, something the children will enjoy I'm sure!!
Went into the Wynn the day after it opened (couldn't be bothered to queue the night before) it does look a lovely hotel. Was gutted last year when I found a deal that would have allowed us to stay at the Wynn rather than the Aladdin for only £50 pp!! Haven't found a deal as good as that since.

Stop it Egg, you are really getting me over excited now. Just thought it would be a lovely trip for the kids, they deserve it. Definately going to do Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam. Have already booked a lovely hand treatment. We have pre-book seats 6a+k and 7a+K, what do you think? :wavey:

Perfect choice on the seats, it will feel like you have your own part of the plane right at the very front.
Tip: There are no overhead lockers above 6A/K, make sure you leave the clubhouse "before" they announce its time to go, I usually set off half an hour earlier than that. Get to be first on and grab a locker. You don't have to stand behind EC passengers to board, last time we went there was a really long almost single file queue in the corridor, not Virgins fault it was because of building work, I stood patiently behind everyone and when I got to boarding they told me I should have just gone straight past everyone.

I've stayed at the Wynn - it was May 05, not long after it had opened!
Room (just a standard one, but on a high floor overlooking the Strip) was pretty awesome. Mega high quality bed linen (they're big on 'thread counts' in the US), electric curtains, plasma TV etc. Bathroom (also with LCD TV), separate shower, and separate room for the toilet was almost as nice!
Saw some complaints the air conditioning wasn't too good, but my room was fine. I was also a bit miffed about how expensive the bottled water and nibbles were in the room (they really ought to have been free). I think the gym was quite a big extra charge too.
It was also bedlam at check in and out (bear in mind this was just after opening so maybe they've sorted that). I was on a convention and we had a separate check-in so didn't have any hassle there.
Have a look at TripAdvisor - I just glanced at it and all the recent reviews seem very positive, whereas the early ones (when I went) were pretty critical.

It seems to be a standard complaint in Vegas that there are problems at check-in. I've stayed at the Luxor, Excalibur and the Aladdin (Imperial this year) and we've not had any major problems and as we fly in with Virgin we always arrive before the 3 pm check in. All 3 hotels had poor reviews for the check-in proceedures.
We had a wait last year at the Aladdin as there wasn't a twin room clean, we waited 30 mins and it was sorted.

Actually the first time we went we had the kids with us and they wanted to stay at the MGM Grand as it was (at least then) the worlds biggest hotel.
What they don't say is that it also had the worlds longest queues at check-in - we waited over an hour.
The Wynn (at least not long after it had opened) was just disorganised and there were lots of loud Americans loudly complaining and asking for reductions. The reception area was packed with people milling around.

Been in all the hotels all are pretty awsome. The Venician is also fantastic with opera singers.
I went there and renewed my vows with Elvis giving me away. So cheesy but fun.
We are looking at going there next year and taking the children we have always found something to do with the children.

Lucky you staying at the Wynn. Never stayed there, but had a good nosey around when we were in Vegas Oct 05. Wonderful hotel, beautiful decor and very classy. We had the absolutely BEST buffet breakfast/brunch at the Wynn - fabulous choice, lovely setting and the food incredible - I would highly recommend this.
Hope you have a fab time in Vegas.
