Which one have you booked Charlotte? There is one on I Drive and one called Homewood Suites Universal, which is up at the top of I Drive near Universal. We have stayed at the Universal area one and can thoroughly recommend it. I believe the other one is just as good, perhaps a year or two older, but with all the same facilities, and gets equally great reviews.
Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Well that will be great. As I said we were at the other one, but the facilities are the same. Breakfast is very good with a few hot options each day as well as pastries, cereals toast etc. 4 Evenings a week there was a Manager's reception with different offerings each time, but the 3 we ate at saved us paying for a meal that night. Opinions do vary on that though!

Rooms are great - the bedroom alone seemed larger than some of the hotel rooms we have stayed in and you also get a lounge with kitchen area. I think there was a dishwasher, but we didn't need to use it. Needless to say we still didn't cook in the week we were there! It was really nice to have a sofa to sit on rather than just the beds in an ordinary room!

I have stayed at Homewood on I Drive twice - fantastic hotel as Maz as said! Have a look at this thread. It should help.

I have stayed at the one on international drive by the convention centre last April/May it was really good, i was a little worried before we went but i had nothing to worry about. You have a nice sized living area with a sofa and table and chairs in the kitchen you get a microwave a hob a dishwasher and fridge freezer and all the utensils you need. We liked being able to keep drinks and ice cream in the fridge. The bed was the biggest bed i have stayed in i needed a step ladder to get in but it was so comfortable. The staff were all nice and friendly we thought my dad had lost his wallet and they all help look for it but it was in the car all along. If you have any more question you can ask me.

thankyou, the free transport do you have to reserve it for the next day or can you just get on them?

You need to reserve the transport. We only used the bus to US and IoA and booked early in the morning. I believe you can book the evening before as well.

Hi Charlotte, My dh and I will be there on the 13th Sept, so look out for Bill + Jackie Henderson and say hello. It's our first time and I'm so excited, I will be 59 then but I believe you should never grow up.

Hi,

I have only stayed at the one near the 192/I4.

We had a problem with the curtains in the bedroom falling down, I phoned housekeeping, an hour later I phoned again, an hour later I phoned, no answer so I went to the desk and spoke to the night manager. A guy turned up 20 minutes later, by that time I had screwed the curtain rail back up using a knife.

I complained to the Manager the next morning and they did not charge me for the room and boy did I get an apology.

Regardless of this incident we loved it there, it was spotless, the breakfast was great and the staff very friendly.

We have been back on two further occasions and cannot fault it.

Charlotte, go to the bottom of this page and have a look at all the threads linked to the hotel. The hotel is just about perfect in every way. I have posted photos on the link in my first post. I dont know if you have had a look but they will give you some idea of what to expect. Have a look at tripadvisor as well - some great reviews. If you dont like this hotel, there wont be many others you will like in Orlando!
One thing I would say is ask for a pool view from a room on the 3rd or 4th floor and make sure you dont get a room near the hotel generator!

Oh yes, make your own waffles. They are so delicious. I think they had strawberry, chocolate and toffee toppings. Ds took this picture - he did go a bit overboard with the toppings though.

Reporting back as promised. Stayed at Homewood Suites I-Drive a couple of nights ago. For the price, it is an absolute bargain - we paid £41. The rooms were great, the breakfast awesome (although the coffee could be better, but isn't that always the case), and the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.

If you are planning to be out all day doing theme parks etc, then I would think this hotel is perfect. I would stay here again without hesitation.
