Ooh! :tounge: i'm so glad to see this thread is still going strong!
I have noticed one thing though that is slightly puzzling me! Looking at the pictures from places like YS and Le Cellier there don't seem to be any vegetables served with the meat and veg! Is it served on seperate plates or do vegetables only come as a side order? :confused2
My DD is complaining that all theses piccies are torturing her!!

Veronica, I was so fed up by the lack of veg; I bought them as side orders. (The quality of the Le Cellier photos is lousy - apologies) The roast mushrooms and asparagus were delicious.

I'm not the biggest lover of vegetables but it is nice to have a bit of greenery on your plate! It just seems odd - and slightly cheeky - that you have to buy veg as a side dish! Those mushrooms look soooo good though i will definately be paying OOP for them! :tounge:

V - if you see my Le Cellier report, in my trippies. My steak was supposed to come with leeks - if you can find them on my plate, I'd be amazed.
Like the "mushrooms" that came with pork chop at Artist Point - about half of one, sliced!!!
The meals would look so much nicer with veggies alongside them - JMHO!!

I know what you mean about the lack of veg in a lot of places. I tend to buy a lot of fruit to have in our room and try and get salads as starters.

That's a real shame! They manage to serve all those gorgeous meat and potato creations, so what's so diificult about popping some well presented veg on the side? :confused2

Do you know, I have always wondered that. I was talking about the very same to a friend on Friday! Restaurants just seem to leave them out as somehow they mess up the plate! I love my veg so I just have to buy them as extras.
Margaret
I love my veggies too.
I asked them why veggies are so rarely served and they said the veggies come back uneaten and they end up chucking them in the bin.
I almost always get a side order of veggies too. They don't generally cost much - and you get loads :tounge:

Does anyone know if you can order a few side dishes instead of an entree on the DDP?
Some of the menus are a bit restricted for me and some of the entrees are not to my taste. But the sides like the mushrooms and mash etc i know i would eat. But i didnt know if they would allow me to do that.
Any help would be great.
By the way, those mushrooms look sooo yummy from Le Cellier!!:tounge:

Hi Sue.(Whenever i say that it always reminds me of the advert.:d: )
Really sorry, DH really can't remember what it was but he isn't overly keen on beetroot but he loved this dish!
Also to the other poster, i do agree regarding EPSN, but it goes with the restaurant really. Its a very laid back atmosphere, i didnt feel like the kids couldnt have a bit of fun in there, and we were fine with how the food was served. But i can see your point.
The food and prices were good though.:thumbs-up

It was a huge cake, we took the left overs with us and it lasted days in the fridge.
I think it cost about $20 dollars, it was from our 2005 holiday so I can't quite remember.

Oh.... and the prize for the world's smallest steak has to go to the one that DS had at Christmas - it was about 3 inches x 2 inches and went in 3 bites. Sorry about the poor photo but we were laughing so much I couldn't keep the camera steady

All the poor starved boy had to eat was that teeny steak and the very small bowl of pasta you can see in the photo. I had to give him most of my steak and then stop at the concierge lounge so he could fill up on cookies.
All he can say now is thank god he is 10 so he can eat off the adult menu :spin:

They are served at the Boma dinner buffet at AKL.
That looks good Sue especially the ribs :tounge: did you rate Maya
Sorry Jakki, missed this Q.
Our food was very nice at Maya Grill but service was rather slow, we waited about half an hour after the salad - I ended up a bit squiffy as I'd drank my Margarita and wine before my ribs came
The place was packed and they were really busy though with every table filled.
It was closed when I took that piccie of the empty restaurant.
I'd go back, but CSR is a bit off the beaten track - we were staying at AKL at the time which is quite close by.
I'm looking forward to hearing how ClareH gets on in May as the menu's changed since we were there - might be time for another visit

Happy to oblige Bob. I'm sure you'll do the same for me in May :tounge:
One point though. The chef from the Flying Fish is now at Cali Grill, which was why we returned to Cali Grill in Jan - I wanted to taste more of his delicious food!
The new chef at FF is meant to be rather amazing too but too early for any 'feedback' as yet.
I'm looking forward to hearing how ClareH gets on in May as the menu's changed since we were there - might be time for another visit
I'm hoping it's as good as I remember Sue - seeing as though this was one of Dad's favourites and we're booked in twice, might be a bit disappointing if it's not so good.
It's always a bit of a worry returning to a favorite isn't it Clare? You so want it to be another great experience.
Menu looks nice though!

OMG that wedding cake is fab, I wish we could afford to renew our vows at Disney and have THAT cake.
xx
I daren't even start to wonder how much it costs :omg:
I think it's probably one of those "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it" situations.
Andre
I'm sure that is the case Andre. Think I'll just stick to taking the pics of 'em.

From the menu:
Tostones with Chicken
(Pronounced “toast-tone-ays”) Thick slices of home-fried plantains layered with chicken, sweet peppers, mushrooms, onions and cheese, topped with fresh tomato salsa.
It was gorgeous!!
I can see we'll be putting the DDP to full use ;)

I'd totally forgotten about this thread! How happy was i to find 6 pages of glorious food to catch up with! :D :spin: :spin: :spin:
Love the Fudrucker pictures! Last year i had the biggest salad i have ever seen in there! My friend and i weren't particularly hungry and thought we'd be fairly safe with a salad! My friends DH spotted our meals before we did and was practically crying with laughter - it looked like an entire allotment was being brought out! :omg: - It was gorgeous, but huge, and DH swears the chocolate milkshake was the best he's ever had! :tounge:
Where are the wedding cake pictures from? Do they have them on display? They are stunning!
