Has anyone done crystal river manatee swim, I have seen it on a couple of nature programmes and it looks lovely, I looked on internet and the swim is 7am, so I guess we would have to go night before and stay in a hotel as it's a couple of hours from Disney, anyone got any tips or advice whether we should do it?

This is something I'd really like to do to. I found a site that says you can swim at 6 am and 10 am so maybe that's an option.
I'm going over Sept/Oct and am likelt to do this myself.
Thanks for the 'heads up'.

Heather if you see Bill Oddie in USA when he goes to Florida repeated watch it as the manatee interaction is absolutley magical the website I looked at said 6am and 10am, but then said for the summer 2007 all would be 7am but it might be a different site, $40 for all the gear and the swim or £10 just to watch :thumbs-up

We did it in 2004. It was the best day we had in Florida :spin:
You can read about it in my trippie:

Best day we've ever had, we went with Virgin and swam at about 11am, we had breakfast on the way there then lunch and a visit to a wild life park and a Manatee rescue centre all this was in the price.

There are various ways of taking in this magnificent experience. This is one of them

There are others - just google Crystal River and go from there.
