Taking the kids to saluris palace hotel nr the portAventura theme park if anyone has any advice that would be great . Things like if its best to take some cash and then use cash machines for cash and if there are plenty in the salou area .
Also what is the park like our hotel is 10 mins walk away and the fireworks can be seen from the hotel rooms if you are park side .

Any advice welcome Alison

Hi Alison - been to Port Aventura 4 times - I ab love it there. Have always stayed on site and taken cash / travellers cheques so never used cash machines. Salou is nice, but once youve been round the town, thats it, but there are some lovely places nearby.

Fiestaventura is brilliant - if you want to watch it within the park people start queueing around the lake at least an hour before ( Ive been June and Sept tho)

One down side is be prepared for very rude queue pushers also check opening times of park and show times. I was very disappointed last year - the park was always open till 12 but it changed to "seasonal" last year. Saying that still had a fantastic time. Any more info required, just pm me.

From what I remember your hotel is ideally situated to walk up to Portaventura and is also within easy walking distance of the centre of Salou.

There are loads of cash points in Salou.

We used cash and travellers cheques so no idea about cashpoints.
Salou is one of the best holidays we have had and we would go back again anytime.
We did a jeep safari and that was just fantastic, if you do it, wear old clothes as you will get filthy with the dust.
We also did a sunshine cruise to a little town with a market and then they stop a a beach where they have fun and games for all the family or you can just chill out on the sand.

Hi

When we where there last year, there were plenty of cash machines. There is a Barlcays bank on the front near the beach so we also use the one there

Thanks

Can't offer any advice sorry, was going to book a week in Port Aventura last year but for an extra £200 we got a good Florida deal so never quite got there. I'd like to go sometime though, let us know what it's like when you get back.

We were there last year and there are plenty of cash machines, there are a few in the Theme Park itself. We always just take a bit cash then use the cash machine, you get a much better exchange rate.

Thanks everyone , I took kids to Florida on my own but am a little more nervous about Salou . We wanted to go back but got such a good price on this £1100 for half board in a 4* hotel for me and two teen age kids .it ticked all the boxes they want theme parks and I like to relax so we'll all geta bit of what we like .
