I am in serious need of help! we are travelling to disney on 24th march 2007 for the first time. we are 50ish (going on 16) with no kids. we were going to buy 14 day ultimate tickets and orlando flex tickets but a colleague who has been 2-3 times said i probably won't get value from them. She reckons we will be better off paying at the gate or picking up part expired tickets from booths. We are not particularly into rides, although you cant go all that way and not try some, not really into water parks, although sea world sounds attractive and I do want to recapture my childhood by seeing the disney sights. Please can someone out there help me make sense of the vast variety of tickets and prices on offer, and point me in the right direction

i thought tickets were non transferable, so i dont know how part expired tickets work from the booths, and i wouldnt buy from them at all

i would say the ultimate tickets were the best option as i think you can visit each park as many times as you want

take a look here (http://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/attraction-ticket-prices/14-day-disney-ultimate-ticket.htm), it tells you what you can do with them

We go without kids now too....but we still prefer to get the ultimate and the flex tickets...I think they're the best value in the long run...I don't think it's value at all to be paying one day gate prices...and I wouldn't touch the tickets off the booths that have been used...after all...you don't know how many days they have left...if any...at least with the ultimate and the flex you can come and go at your leisure....have a fantastic time whichever tickets you choose....and remember Disney isn't just for kids...;)

If you want to go to Disney for more than one day then paying on the gate won't get you the best value for money. Most of the other parks run special promotions for buying your tickets in advance which give a discount even for just one day's visit so I definitely think it's a good idea to buy tickets in advance :)
Firstly i'd make a rough plan of what parks you want to do and approximately how many days for each then you can work out how many days work of tickets you'll need. A site like http://www.attraction-tickets-direct.co.uk/ will have a good list of options, happy planning!

Even if you waste days on you tickets you will still get good value for money
as they are very good value to start with, I think you will find there is still plenty in the parks for you.

Paying on the gate is the most expensive way to go.
Buying from booths is the most risky way to go.
The Premium and Ultimate tickets on sale exclusively in the UK are great value and allow you to access all the parks as often as you like, great flexibility. It would be hard not to get your money's worth.

As others have said buying the Ultimate and the flex ticket give you the flexibility to visit any park whenever you wish.

We chose to buy the 4 park orlando flex one year instead of the 5(which includes busch gardens) but when we were there decided to go to busch and pay at the gate, the whole day was a disaster, the weather was terrible all day and rollercoasters were closed and we ended up leaving early to find our car had a flat tyre. We felt we had wasted alot of money whereas if we had bought the ticket that included it we wouldn't have felt so miserable about it.

If you have a terrible day because of the weather at any of the parks at least you have the option to call it a day and revisit another time.

I think I would choose flexibility over price.

why not get the 7 day premium pass(a bit cheaper than ultimate, but not by much) and seaworld have an offer on at the moment adults for kids prices with an extra day free.someone i know lost £500 by buying tickets from a rogue seller on i drive, its just not worth it to save a few quid.

i would buy two day hopper tickets that way you can experience the parks by hopping between on your first day and go back another day to the ones you like the best and then experience the rest of Orlando and maybe go to the gulf coast, kennedy is a must for people of all ages buy the tickets before you go

I would but the flexi ticket and the ultimate 14 day. Then you have something to do every day if you choose the price difference is negligible for the peace of mind imho.
