View Full Version : Most Magical Family Hotel in Disney?
We are looking for a family friendly hotel - our kids 7 and 4 in the Disney resort. Sure that most are suitable but is there a particular one that stands out? Spending two weeks there so wanted one which is good to stay in for a couple of days/nights ideally pool with slides, characters, shows etc. Heard the Grand Floridian is a bit stuffy - is that true? Thanks.
Our daughter was 5 when we stayed in All Star Movies and she was amazed at the theming. Pool was superb and a real Disney atmosphere throughout.
I would recommend ASM very highly. Staying at All Star Music in Oct as AS Movies not available

We have two daughters who were aged 7 & 10 when we stayed in Coronado Springs in 2004 and thought it was good but a year later we stayed in All Star Movies and the decor, characters (when the hurricane came!), pools and giant characters blew us all away!
We have also visited various Disney hotels including the likes of The Grand Floridian etc for meals etc but as a family feel that you can't beat ASM for a Disney family holiday!

You can't beat the three all star hotels or the pop century hotel for child friendly theming. It depends what the kids like - Movies/Sports/Music. Most people (including us) pick Movies, so it tends to fill up quicker than the others. But if you want the disney magic in your hotel then this is it.
Remember though that this is a value hotel with two king/queen sized beds and you are sharing a room with two children. So it can be a bit of a pain when it's time for their sleep.
I would recommend the Beach Club. It has a character breakfast on site, buffett restaurant - ideal for little ones - ice cream parlour and the best sand bottomed, zero entry pool on property. There is a little beach for smaller chidlren, slide for bigger ones (including mum and dad). Its 5 minutes walk from Epcot and a 10 minute boat ride from MGM. You can get the monorail from Epcot to MK. There's the Boardwalk across the lake (five minutes walk again). There is the Sandcastle club to look after the little ones for mum and dad to have some together time. In fact - everything you could want is there.
We always stay at the Beach Club and can highly recommend it, its facilities and its staff.

You could always try the Family Suites at All Star Music. These give you more space.

We stayed at Pop Century for the first 2 weeks basically for the kids as the themeing for them was out of this world - where else would you get a 50ft roger rabbit;) for the last week we stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter for a little bit of luxury for DH and I. I suppose it depends on wether you want a basic hotel with fabulous themeing for the kids or a moderate/luxury hotel with more grown up themeing.

I'd also recommend All Star Movies! The theming is fantastic!

I think All Star Movies has to be the most 'Disney' of all the hotels. You really can't beat the themeing there for kids.
I agree with the others, definately All Star Movies for theming, but IMHO, if you were looking at a Value resort, Pop Century is miles better!
Thanks to all for your help. Will take a look at all of the options. Just got a price for 4 adults and 2 kids of 11kish prem ec with Virgin, staying in the Wilderness (just out of interest) does that sound about right? Seems lumpy from what Ive read on the forum. maybe a bit of shopping about needed!
