We need to swap our hotels for moderate ones to try and save some money and I want some opinions on which are the best?
I've stayed in Caribbean Beach and POR before so would prefer something different. There are just 2 adults and we are on our first wedding anniversary trip.
We'd be staying in the first one for 9 nights and the second for 6 nights.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I think the French Quarter is beautiful - it's very small, easy to get to the buses and carpark etc, the rooms feel quite posh (I liked that better than the rustic logs in the Riverside) and there are lovely courtyards outside.
I have some photos here

I have never stayed at Coronado Springs but that also gets some good reviews too - it has a better food court than most resorts.
You could also consider renting DVC points - it's a bit more risky as it's a private transaction rather than dealing with Virgin or Disney, but you can get some good rates for deluxe style hotels (but no housekeeping).
It was Bev who encouraged me to book POFQ a year ago and we just fell in love with it. We returned in November for another week and it didn't disappoint. However, we haven't stayed at the other mods, so have nothing to compare. We loved the small size and 'romantic' feel, and the boat to DTD. The resort music is lovely! We walked round Riverside a couple of times and though it looks really lovely it seemed very sprawled out.
We are hoping to stay there for a week again in November.

Another vote here for French Quarter - it's so romantic, quiet yet easy to get to anywhere from here.
Another vote for POFQ ... but also a vote for Coronado Springs :) POFQ is so pretty, it's in a lovely setting with it's boat to DTD and the walk along the Sassagoula to Riverside, it's 'small' size is a definite plus. On the other hand, although Coronado is a much larger resort, it is also very pretty and I personally found the facilities better - i.e. the food court offered more variety, it had a very nice sit down restaurant (the Maya Grill), and the bus service was the best I have experienced at any of the resorts I've stayed at. The only 'downside' to some people is that Coronado is a convention resort but I found this to be a plus - during the day the resort was very quiet as people were in conventions and during the evening again it was pretty quiet as the convention people were in organised events. This all made for nice quiet buses :thumbs-up I don't have a problem with people walking around in suits on cell phones but I appreciate this isn't everyone's cup of tea.

Another vote for POFQ. Romantic and intimate with a lovely boat ride to DTD.

The POFQ is very nice and compact, although u do have the option of an offsite 4star for same price

We're staying at Coronado Springs Resort for the first time in August! We had a look round last year and it looks beautiful, we were really impressed! The food court and restuarant are supposed to be excellent!
