Hi, Any thoughts, comments, pictures of the all star resort hotels? I went this year, and guess what I am desperate to go back next year. We stayed in a villa this, but want to stay on site next year. Does anyone have any info to help me make up my mind about which resort hotel to stay in. I am pretty sure it will need to be one of the all star ones. Does anyone have piccies of inside the rooms, what is provided in the room, are there electrical points for charging of items, also is it worth hiring a fridge for 14 days or buying a cheap one (one on walmart site for $80), we are going to do ddp but thinking of doing breakfast in room each day to keep credits for lunch and nice dinner. My question is can I use a coffee maker to make tea- is there one in the room? If not enough plugs to buy a kettle and maybe toaster? Many thanks. Tracey:wave:

We stayed at All Star Music last Easter and are back again in May this year. I found it great for the price, and as we hardly spent any time there, it met all out needs.
I took a travel kettle, but didn't need it as we got refillable mugs and had a room right close to the food court, so grabbing a coffee was easy! there was only two of us - me & my son, so there was plenty space for us. The room was basic but clean & comfortable.
For us, ASM was great, we were out of the room within 30 mins of waking and returned each evening when parks closed (inc EMH) which meant we fell straight into bed! So we didn't really spend much time there, on the day where we collapsed with exhaustion we stayed by the pool at ASM and it was lovely. No problem getting a sunbed and towels.
IMHO - a great place to stay, and if you're not too proud to stay at a value worth every single penny:grin:

We tend to stay at All Star Sports (avoiding the cheerleading season!) and love it. You get two large double beds (or one King bed in the "disabled" rooms that only have a shower), a round table and a few chairs, about 8 large drawers and a length of hanging space for clothes, a TV, an iron and ironing board, a sink area, a bathroom with bath, shower hose and curtain and a toilet. Also a phone and a small safe.
There are a few plugs about the room. $140 for the fridge seems an awful lot of money when you can get one for $80. What we did was take a collapsible cool bag and filled it with ice each night from the ice machine and put in there some fresh things for the morning. It meant we bought something for breakfast most nights. But as we were buying from the foodcourt it really didn't save money, just time.
Can't remember a coffee maker. The one we had when in Port Orleans wouldn't make decent tea! If you buy refillable mugs (recommended), you can get boiling water from the drinks station - there are a few types of their tea bags there to help yourself to...I'd take my own if you like an English cuppa. Or get yourself a walmart kettle.
We are going back this October and actually prefer All Star Sports to Port Orleans French Quarter for a family holiday (but I know many would disagree with me).

We stayed at ASMO last year and loved it! The rooms are a nice size, much better than we expected, and brightly decorated! None of the value resorts have coffee makers in the rooms but there are plenty of plug sockets if you want to bring your own! We bought the refillable mugs which were fantastic value and well worth the $11! Each morning and evening one of us would go to the food court to fill them up so we didn't miss having coffee/tea making facilities! There were also toasters and microwaves in the food court for you to use if you wanted to bring your own bread ect!

Thanks for replies so far, when is cheerleading season? Are any of the buildings better to stay in than others? How far roughly would the food station be and how early does it open? Tracey

2007 dates...
Feb. 16–19. Twirlmania.
Feb. 24–25. Cheer & Dance National Championships.
Mar. 2–4. Cheer & Dance National Championships.
Mar. 9-11. National All Star Cheerleading Championship.
On these dates, All Star Sports is not the best place to be.
The buildings are all much of a muchness - in a good way. We have been in Surf's Up (near the bigger pool) and Touchdown (next to the American Football pitch and near the smaller pool) - both have been fine.
Furthest room to food court is about a 10 minute walk absolute max.
Food court opens at 6am (refridgerated and bakery goods only) and then progressively all the cooked food stations open (for things like waffles, pancakes, cooked breakfasts) so that it is all open by 7:30am.
