I hate the Test Track queue in Epcot :( ...it seems to go on forever and it is so noisy !

The queue for Soarin was massive when we went in Presidents Week last year ...nearly 2 hours..good job we had Fast Passes..but we still had a 20 min wait with these !

Also I really dislike what I call "the queue is disguise "...where you think you have entered the ride/ show but you are subjected to 15 mins of blab from a TV screen with some pointless pre-ride/show drivel...for example the "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" experience. I just wanna get on the ride !!!!!!!

...but if you go half an hour, or less, before the fireworks start, virtually all rides are walk on !

Gosh..I do seem to be knocking the rides /shows at Epcot :omg: ...maybe its because there are fewer of them compared to the other parks and so the queues are greater ??

It would be the test track ride for me ,especially as you have to watch the video first and then cue again

Worst queue was in Universal for shrek....1.5 hour wait...test track is pretty bad especially when it brakes as you get to the door lol!!!

The worst for us has been Test Track in Epcot, even when we have gone at realy quiet times, it has been known to be over an hour!:confused2

Have managed to bag it a few times though and the wait was 10-20 mins!!!:spin: :spin:

28 Feb 07, 09:06 AM
are the qeues not any shorter in sept and how much are the fastpasses?

Cinders Mum
28 Feb 07, 09:19 AM
Ann Fastpasses are free, you insert your park ticket in the machine, and it will have a 1 hour window for you to return printed on the ticket, at the bottom it will also tell you when you can get another fastpass ticket, if it is relatively quiet this will become active 5 minutes after your fastpass window opens, if it is busier it may be earlier than this.

September is relatively quiet typical queue times from 0-30 mins the worst being at the weekends, you will notice a difference however as you approach the end of september in into October when the crowds will increase due to Food & Wine and MNSSHP nights increasing, which will see wait times increase to 60-100 mins at the worst ..... (which is still nothing compared to peak travel dates, but a shocker when you are used to the virtual walk ons from the previous week) HOWEVER, with the free DDP and various US offers this may change this year as it may well be busier, the above is obviously how is HAS been, not a promise of how it will be.

Test track, Peterpan (still not been on this!) Buzz lightyear has always been busy when we have been there.

KittyKat
28 Feb 07, 10:23 AM
For us it has to be Test Track. Even with a FP we waited about 30 mins one day. DS went in the single rider line which was posted as 10 minutes and had to wait about 45 mins. Dumbo is such a slow loader that what seems like a modest queue takes a long time.

Weve been lucky, as the previous times we have been it has been sept/oct so relatively quiet, and all rides virtual walk ons. We did notice last time, however, that the queues for soarin were nudging the 60 min. mark. Val, how busy do you expect it to be in September/October this year?

The three worst queues I've been in are in order,

Soaring - wasn't actually in the queue, but it took about 5 minutes to walk past everyone else who didn't have a fastpass....

Men in black - First time, queued for about an hour, the problem is the queue goes round corners and suddenly you find another 1000 or so people in another area you couldn't see before. And the queue continues inside!

Dualing dragons - Queued a while on this, and the express pass still leaves you with a significant wait if its busy..

The two rides I would not like to queue for if all the queueing areas were full would be splash mountain and the mummy, they must be really long waits. I am going to Six Flags - Magic Mountain in CA this year, by all accounts some of the rides there are ALWAYS two hour waits.....

davidbillcliffe
28 Feb 07, 01:11 PM
On a slightly different tack, for me the worst waits are those at the water parks.

Slowly trudging 80ft into the air.

Some huge American behind in front.

Skin bubbling in the Summer heat.

'Especially at Wet 'n' Wild, when you're stood in your speedos hanging over a main road.

I have been queuing since 1980 to go on Captain Nemo's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

I remember in 1990 I queued for a ride at Universal (think it had the Flinstones in it) which had a 75 minutes wait time for a poor 3 minute 'experience'

Soarin terrible queues :( 120 mins when we were there in Oct luckily we had fastpass
Test Track queue was 70 mins :( luckily again had fastpass

Blooming Dumbo. Why no Fast Pass? We went early in the morning one day and it was ok but when we went on another evening we had to queue for ages. Plus DD wanted to go on again

the worst one we saw last trip was test track it was 90mins :omg: then duelling dragons, but that was just busy not horrendous

brody-maddison
28 Feb 07, 09:47 PM
The ones I always notice with long queues are:

Soarin' : Never seen it below 90mins.

Peter Pan : Always seems to be around 60 mins +

Expedition Everest : Was over 90 mins last July but guessing it was due to it being new

28 Feb 07, 09:50 PM
Dumbo. its so slow loading. And I hate it when they use up one car for one adult riding alone who sits talking on their mobile during the whole ride.

Ours last Easter were;

Test Track -they ran out of Fast Passes! and we waited 2 hours:(

Then Soarin - which again ran out of Fast Passes! we waited 1.5 hours

They were still worth it though :donald_bo

The loading times for Soarin are incredibly long!! Even with a FP you'll be lucky if you're on and off inside 25 minutes.

The Pteterdon (spelling??) Flyers ride at IOA is another awful queue; never less than 45 minutes and moves at the speed on an arthritic snail :mad2:

The single worst for me though is the Indy Speedway at MK. DS loves this ride but there's always a queue and you spend 45 minutes breathing in petrol fumes in 90 degree + heat with your ears being assaulted by the awful engine noises. By the time I've got off I want to throw up and then lie in a darkened room for an hour.

a few years ago on july 4th we stood in line for splash mountain for over 2hours, the sign said 70 mins and then it had tech problems, it was so hot as well, we go in oct now and if the wait is longer than 30 mins we dont bother.

Alvin

the worst queue has to be sitting in the traffic trying to get out of Wigan.

1/ The New Finding Nemo Ride at Epcot... it's great to queue through when you are going on the ride. It's great how it feels like you are heading under the sea, but if you wanna just go on turtle talk then you have to do half the Finding Nemo Queue.

2/ Soarin'... never less than 70 mins we found when we went first 2 weeks in November.

3/ Expedition Everest... We were there at 10.30 and the queue was already 90 mins long, with FP not available until 15:00, again in November.

Shocking.

Waited well over an hour for each and then gave up on Epcot and went back to the hotel - mind you, it was Thanksgiving Week !!!

When we were there in August/September it was my daughters 6th Birthday and she wanted to go to MK, problem was we didnt realise that it was bank holiday weekend. We hadnt encountered queues until this Saturday and it was unreal.

The biggest queue was for meeting Ariel, where you go through the cave tyoe layout and get a picture etc with her. We queued for an age in boiling hot sun.

2 Mar 07, 07:27 PM
Without a doubt, it has to be the Jimmy Neutron Ride at Universal. Queued up for around 2hrs, and it turned out to be the worst ride of the whole day. Definately one to miss unless you're got 5yr olds with you, I think.

At Disney, usually Peter Pan.

ianpetchey
2 Mar 07, 07:38 PM
Don't diss the Neutron!

HuddsBassBone
3 Mar 07, 12:55 PM
OK, perhaps I was a little hard on the Neutron! :)

But thinking back, it was the version of the Birdy Dance in the middle of it that the cars jump up and down to, that made me feel incredibly sick. Like being bounced on someones knee when I was 3!!! :tounge:

HAs to be 1. Dumbo 2. Dumbo 3. Dumbo.
Don't think youngest 2 have ever done Dumbo as I will not queue for ridiculous amount of time for this ride.
Apart from Peter Pan ride don't remember ever having to queue for more than 30 mins for anything. We never go at busy times of the year and always make best use of the fastpass.
No queues at Universal or IOA with FOL pass!!!

The queue for the stunt show at the studios is never very long but it is the worst organised and very claustrophobic.

Always seems to be a lot of hanging about at the Terminator show (but worth it!!).

pinkypominnie
27 Aug 07, 08:32 AM
I can remember going 13 years ago and the worst queues being:

ET
Back to the Future
Splash Mountain

Since the introduction of fast passes I cant understand how anyone ever queues for anything!! We use the single rider at Test Track and pretty much got straight on and with careful planning and use of fastpasses and getting to the parks for opening, we didnt queue longer than 15/20 mins for anything and went on EVERY ride in all the parks!! xx

For the first 2 weeks in agust .

1. THE WATERPARKS AT WEEKENDS PACKED TO CAPACITY Would not let anyone in.

2. TEST TRACK , 30 MIN WAIT BUT AS SOON AS WE GOT IN IT WNT UP TO 60 MIN THEN BROKE DOWN HALF WAY THROUGH AND HAVEN TO QUE AGAIN AFTER THE VIDEO.

3. All rides in universal went up to 2.5 hours , thank god for staying onsight as we did not have to que at all.

I Must Just Go At The Right Time Never Waited More Then 20mins For All Rides

I'm with you mate. Always go later in the year and very rarely have to queue more than 20 minutes for anything.

You can keep your 100 degrees and 1 1/2 hour queues. Fair enough the parks are open longer at peak times but they need to be to let you do everything.

Lady
28 Aug 07, 11:37 AM
1. Ripsaw Falls - always long
2. Splash Mountain - 80 mins.
3. Journey to Atlantis - cant remember how long but DH was seriously p***** by the time we got back.

We have always gone in May June and july time so it is busy. We re going next month the last week so hope it wont be TOO busy.

the only bad Q ive witnessed was test Track in 04 and was 90mins so we skipped it, not wasting that amount of time for 1 ride :nonono:, other than that near on walk on everything else :)

MrBrady
28 Aug 07, 05:11 PM
Week before last we looked at the queue at Peter Pan at 7:05pm on Monday and it was a 90 minute wait. The following morning at 8:05am we walked on.. :D

Worst queue I saw was on Duelling Dragons at IOA - no-one checking the Express passes and just a complete nightmare once you got inside the castle. Even with FOTL we waited upwards of 30 minutes to ride.

MrBrady
28 Aug 07, 05:19 PM
.. and we walked onto Soarin at 9:05am on a Thursday morning. When we exited the Land pavilion, the wait time was 70 minutes!

28 Aug 07, 11:47 PM
The most horrendous queues we ever experienced were the first time we went to Disney 18 years ago. It was June and at that time there was only MK and EPCOT and the crowds were huge.

Spent a hour and half waiting for Mr Toads Wild Ride and the like. Wanted to throw myself under the wheels of the car when I saw what it was like! The problem was we didn't know what any of the rides were like so we were queuing for everything - we didn't have a great resource like the Dibb to help us out.

Soarin' but boy was it worth it! Queues at IOA were terrible all day. We did both Test Track and Tower of Terror 8 times so I did get a bit sick of the lead-in by the 8th time. We were really lucky at MK to be handed Dream Passes after queing for 30 minutes for Splash Mountain, so it does have its good points I s'pose...right place, right time for a change. I'll remember that day forever!
