hi from Florida mall!
can anyone who knows abou the DVC let me know about it?
we had a chat with one of the CM's at a DVC stand but obviously until we went to the meeting he didnt mention the costs, so we didnt bother,
he did mention it was 7000pounds 1 off payment then a small payment each year, so how much is this small payment?
also surely after paying spending money, park tickets, flights, car hire its no cheaper is it?
c'mon let me in on disneys best kept secret!!!!

It's worth going to the presentation - it is not a hard sell and you will not be pressured. Just given the facts and a lovely ice-cream afterwards :tounge:
Yes, go to the presentation. They will tell you how much the yearly maintenance is and how many points you need for a studio or 1 bedroomed apartment for 2 weeks. Once you get the information and realise how the points system works, come home and do some research. We did and now own at Boardwalk Villas and Old Key West.

I woudl echo the above. Go to the presentation. There is usually something for the kids to do and a "reward" so if you don't like it you've not missed out. We did lots of research when we came home and for us it was a "go". We were looking for a holiday home anyway and it was Florida or Cornwall!!!! To get a large enough static caravan in Cornwall would have cost us (2002 prices) £18,500 plus siting fees of another £2,500 then yearly rent of £1,000. Plus at 5 year sold the static would have to be replaced. We then factored in Fuel costs etc for 3 or 4 trips a year.
OK then we looked at DVC. we spent £9,000 and have enough points to go either once a year for 2 weeks or once every 2 years for 4 weeks. The annual dues are about £350 a year. We then factored in flight costs and car hire (if we wanted a car but not necessary really if you're staying on site). It worked out cheaper for us!!!!
As you can guess we looked for the catch but never found it. So ultra cautios were we that we didn;t buy until May which was 6 months after we first thought about it. It was the best thing we ever did.
Sorry for long winded reply but we love it so much we want others to get the "secret" too. Happy researching!!!!
