We have booked to stay in a lagoon room at the Polynesian for the last 3 nights of our holiday in October this year.
Can anyone who has stayed there please give me some advice on which they think is the best building to be in.
Accommodation is booked thru Virgin - should I request a room in a particular building thru Virgin or direct with Disney reservations ?
Any advice u could give would be really helpful. Thanks

We are staying there for the first time this summer so can't comment until we get back but I know there are loads of Dibbers who have stayed there.
Have a look at Steve's Tikiman's Web Site (http://www.tikiman2001.homestead.com/) which is dedicated to the poly and has some great info and pictures

Hi Susie
I loved our room at Aotearoa (our room overlooked GF) also Tokelau ......(some rooms overlook the quiet pool) OR Samoa, which is very popular one side faces onto Volcano Pool the other side overlooking the Quiet Pool.
For me though I would request a Balcony room (some buildings have no balconies on 2nd floor) in either Tokelau or Aotearoa ..... but this is my personal choice.
I have emailed you some thoughts which might help a little ;)
thanks val, look forward to reading your e-mail, thanks again susie

Hi Val
That's great - thanks for your recommendation.
Sorry to ask more but do you know which floor is preferable - do they all have balconies/terraces in the Tahiti building ? I think my personal preference would be not to be on the ground floor.
Thanks again:spin:

tahiti does have balconies on 2nd and 3rd floor .... whether you choice balcony or patio is a personal choice.
I prefer balcony, purely because I cannot be annoyed with ducks and duck poo on my patio ....;) we have loads of ducks in our area, so they are no novelty to us

hi, we went at xmas (booked through val) and stayed in tahiti, it was great!! just a short walk from the ticket and trans centre, very handy!
We stayed in Tahiti - lagoon view ground floor.
Great for us with the kids so they could just potter in and out on the patio / grass area.
Nice too for the obligatory "sundowners" and EWP in the evening.
I have always asked and been given a top floor when staying in POP and Movies in case of lots of noise from above. Would that be a consideration at the Poly or is there unlikely to noise from people staying above? Trying to decide between balcony or patio - DD will be 7.

We had a great ground floor room in Aotearoa lovely patio with the monorail skimming by - never saw a duck! Great building for being close to restaurants, pool etc.

We used to stay at Moorea on the first floor with a lake view and loved it - now we stay offsite in a pool home!

The best way to get your request noted is to have who ever you booked through put it on your reservation. The room assigner will get it about a week from your arrival. If it is not noted on your reservation there is no way to have your request honored.
For Lagoon view rooms (non-concierge) we prefer Tahiti (use to be Moorea). For Garden view rooms Tokelau is my favorite. It has the larger rooms, is central to everything with the beach at one end, the bus stop at the other and is next to the pool with the GCH and TTC a short walk away. Tokelau also has balconies on both upper floors but we prefer the ground floor with the open patio that allows us to stretch out and the kids to play on the grass. After Tokelau my next favorite would be Samoa and Niue, than Fiji. They all have great locations and rooms with great views. I forgot to mention that Tokelau has the only garden view rooms with some having a view of the castle and fireworks off to the side.
Aloha

Listen to Steve - what he doesn't know about the Poly isn't worth knowing! Check out his fabulous website too.
