At present there are 2 ships in the Disney Cruise Line: The ‘Magic’ and the ‘Wonder’. After much speculation and amid lots of excitement however, DCL recently announced they are to start building a further 2 ships, to be finished some time in 2011 and 2012.

Based at Florida’s Port Canaveral the Magic & Wonder each hold around 2400 guests and have 11 passenger decks and 877 state rooms.

The Wonder is used for 3 and 4 day cruises to the Bahamas. The 3 day cruise runs from Thursday to Sunday, and calls at Nassau and Castaway Cay (Disney’s own private island). The 4 day cruise departs on a Sunday calling again at Nassau and Castaway Cay, plus a full day at sea before debarking at Port Canaveral on the Sunday.

The Magic sails the 7 day cruises from Saturday to Saturday, and alternates weekly, between a Western and Eastern Caribbean itinerary.
The Western Caribbean cruise will normally include Key West, Grand Cayman, Cozumel and Castaway Cay.
The Eastern calls at St Maarten, St Thomas and Castaway Cay.

Excursions are offered in all ports, from parasailing, to island tours to swimming with dolphins.

In addition to the usual ports of call, in 2005 the Magic sailed throught the Panama Canal to LA, spending the summer offering Mexican Riviera Cruises. Summer 2007 sees the Magic off to the Mediterranean for trips to Italy & France, while summer 2008 it's back to LA and Mexico. Watch out for announcements of special cruises!

Whichever cruise you decide to take you can be sure of a magical time with DCL!
