Onboard Activities
There’s so much to do onboard a DCL ship you may wonder how you’ll have time to get off at the ports! ;)
Just a taster of the activities……….
There are 3 pools on board (all on Deck 9):
Mickey’s – the kids’ pool
Goofy’s Family Pool
Quiet Cove - adults only

A sports deck on Deck 10 is home to basketball hoops, with other equipment available. Deck 4 is a great deck to jog all the way around (if you have the energy!) Table tennis can also be played on deck 9 and a well-equipped gym is available for those who want to stay fit.
Childrens’ clubs operate for kids of all ages, from toddlers to teens, as well as a nursery (‘Flounders’) for babies 12 weeks to 3 years. There are supervised activities, music, games, arcades……..’oceans’ of activities (sorry!)
The cinema often premieres Disney’s latest films, a theatre brings some fabulous shows, such as ‘Mickey’s Golden Globes’, and the wonderful ‘Disney Dreams’, and there are clubs, bars and lounges to please everyone. Try Sessions/Cadillac Lounge for a sophisticated ‘jazz club’ feel, Quiet Cove café for a specialty coffee and quiet read, or Rockin’ Bar D/Wavebands for dancing, comedy or all round entertainment!
On the special nights a giant TV screen overlooking the pool may show films, and look out for 'Pirate Night', complete with fireworks, character fun and a midnight dessert buffet!
If you want to be thoroughly pampered you could book the Spa for a massage, facial or other treatment….or have your hair done in the salon for a special night out. Try out the Tropical Rainforest for saunas, steam room and heated loungers. The new Private Spa’s look fantastic and overlook the ocean, with a private hot tub all of your own!
Seminars & more: fancy taking a look behind the scenes at the ship’s galley? Or learning to how those towel animals are made? Want to watch the chef make a beautiful dessert (and get to try it);)? Or maybe attend one of the many ‘tastings’ onboard…beer, martini, wine and margaritas are all on offer….
As well as all this and more, there are family activities with fun for everyone….talent shows, trivia competitions, Bingo, dancing, game shows, putting contests and much more.
How could I forget the shopping?!! There is a duty-free shop to buy perfumes, alcohol and cigarettes, camera film and batteries etc, Treasure Ketch for as election of cruise clothes, swim wear, jewellry and gifts, and Mickey's Mates for all your Disney character shopping, postcards, pins and general 'supermarket' items. You can also find snack shops, 'Shutters', to buy your cruise photo's and a pin-trading station......as well as the great Disney Art Auction for original Disney art. Phew!
If the very thought of all this wears you out you could just lie back with your drink of the day on one of the many loungers, get a good book from the library in Quiet Cove Café…..or use the internet facilities to make everyone jealous back home!
Then, of course there’s the food……………………..but that’s another story! ;)
