View Full Version : Nationalities on cruises
I was just thinking, us Brits are pretty much everywhere at WDW but how about the Cruise Lines? Will we be in a minority with everyone else American or is there a good cross section of nationalities on board.
I have heard a good few horror stories in my time about Americans on cruises (especially their kids)

Yes, I'm afraid you will very definitely be in the minority - and even more so on the short cruises as they are not really marketed over here.
There were probably no more than 100 - 150 of us non US nationals, when we had to report separately to US immigration on our last morning...and you will probably find that most non US citizens will be Canadians, and maybe a sprinkle of wealthy South Americans.
I think we noticed about two other British families at most on our 4 night cruise.
On the plus side non US citizens have their own checkin desk at the port - so you can imagine there is not much of a queue there compared to all the other checkin desks !

Yep-Think we were the only Brits on ours!Lots of Canadians & Oriental looking people too!
Like said, check in was So easy & no line at all!!
The 6am meet for immigration on last morning was a bit much though, but has to be done!!

I've never met another Brit on my Cruises, it looked liked the majority of non-US travellers are from Canada

Yeah, apparently not many of us Brits at all. This is why my little bro is getting very excited about wearing his kilt - expecting loads of attention. (not sure this will go down well with those Americans who want the dress code to be strictly adhered to.;) )
We've had very few other Brits on our cruises too. We are meeting up with a Dutch family we met through a forum on our next cruise, and there are often many Canadians and a few other European nationalities in evidence on embarkation, but by and large the majority of other Disney cruisers seem to be from the US :):)
I'm not sure I could say though that the US kids seem to be any worse behaved than some British families!;)
