.......................I've booked :D
Sailing on 21st August 2008 in a Cat 6 room :jump: Part of me is really excited and part is really worried about motion sickness. I've read that a lot of American's take something called Bonnie and swear by it so I'll be on the look out for it this summer.
I've just a quick question - We've booked with DCL directly, there was nowhere for me to mention DS's special needs and I can't find how to contact them via the website so could someone let me know how to contact them?
Also DH doesn't know - he said he likes surprises in Florida so this will be one big surprise for him :pgig:

OMG Jakki, I am so happy for you.

Welcome to planning your cruise :D
Is there not a phone number that you can ring up on the website to ask about special needs?
I feel your excitement Jakki.....Good Luck keeping it a secret:)

Great news !!!!!:mickeybou
I would ring DCL and tell them about your DH's special needs.
Don't forget you can transfer your booking to Dreams unlimited and get an onboard credit of up to $200 if you want - this will still mean you can access your booking on the DCL website & make ressies on there etc. - so no disadvantages in doing this at all. You could also let them know about your special requirements - they would make sure it is logged with DCL & they are great to deal with.
We have also booked a cat.6 for our next cruise, we had a cat.9 last time- my DH-to-be doesn't know which cat. I've booked (he thinks it is the same as last time) so it will be a surprise for him too

Welcome aboard!
Looks like cruising is really taking off with us dibbers :) Well done on getting all booked up!
I was worried about motion sickness too, but have heard lots of great reports about ginger pills for seasickness, most people 'on the other forum' swear by them, I am going to take them a month before we sail so they are well and truley in my system, apparantly they work better than the injections you can get onboard off the doctor :)

Welcome aboard Jakki............never thought about sea....sickness.......will look near the time...
DH is also worried about seasickness and I was planning to fill him up with ginger pills before we go. I will let you know how he gets on when we get back.
I think the other recommendation was for Bonine, although I have never heard of it I will get some from a pharmacy when we arrive just in case!

I'd read about that as well so I'll look forward to hearing how everyone gets on and what seems to work the best.
I had a lovely e-mail back from DCL re our request for a table for 4 due to DS's autism and the lady even wished us a happy St Patrick's day :D
I'm sure we will have great fun on this forum with all the planning :thumbs-up

My DH is worrying about this also, I am doing the exact same thing, giving him them a month before, hopefully it will go ok.

That's Disney Magic for you Jakki.
Way to go Jakki!!!!!:):) How exciting!
Bonine and Dramamine (the 'less drowsy' formula) are available from US chemists and are very good for sea sickness :) We've always found that a cabin in the AFT of the ship is good as you don't feel the ship moving so much...not that its very bothersome anyway! Sipping ginger ale also helps, as does plenty of fresh air!;)
Glad you managed to ask about a table for you 4 and have a lovely time planning now!:):)

There was even more Disney Magic - I asked if it was possible to get a copy of the cruise planning DVD but CM said that due to International Privacy Laws, the Vacation Planning Kit information can only be mailed to guests who live in the U.S. I'd mentioned that we were going to be at the Poly this July and the lovely CM said she drives past there every day on her way home and would drop a copy off on the day we check in. I thought that was really nice of her :thumbs-up
what a lovely thing for her to do!:)

There is a small amount about the Disney cruise on the regular Disney planning DVD, though it is not at all obvious...you have to keep going through a selection of "More" options on the DVD to find it.
