We have booked cat 8 cabin and from what i've seen on DCL website it looks like it is double bed with bed settee and a bed that pulls down from wall. How safe is this pull down bed? I have visions of one of my two falling out and landing on top of one another. Is the bed settee suitable for both kids (aged 6 & 9) sleeping in? Would have booked cat 6 but wasn't sure how safe the veranadas were for children. My 6 year old son likes to climb!!!

Not stayed in a cat 8 but I know the pull down beds and bed settees both have guard rails that the staff will attach when they make up the beds every night, they are very safety conscious!

I may be wrong, but it is normally a bunk bed that pulls down from the ceiling to make the fourth bed -only the room staff are allowed to pull it down & put it up. The upper bunk bed has a rail - your eldest would be fine in it.

I have heard of cruisers using this pull down bed for extra storage, leaving the bed pulled down at all times. The Passporter book has details of the layouts of all category rooms.
