We are about to book a 7day cruise for the 15th Dec (Western), just wondering if its best to book direct with DCL or if you can get a better deal somewhere else. The last time we booked with Virgin it was expensive, any suggestions please.

We priced ours up on the DCL web site then asked for a couple of quotes from US TA's to compare prices. They were exactly the same so we booked with DCL and got a $25 state room credit. we will transfer the reservation to Dreams Unlimited and will receive a credit from them as well.

Exactly what we did

British travel agents are very expensive  ....... but I suppose they have to cover themselves in case the £/$ rate goes down once they have published their brochures, and some people would rather deal with UK agents.

I booked my cruise, paid the deposit, then emailed DU for a quote. Then told them I had a booking, they took all the details etc and transferred everything over to DU.
When the cruise was transferred over, I took advantage of the good $$ rate and paid the balance.

Nope - just ring / email DU and give your booking details - they will transfer it ...and there is no extra to pay...all terms remain the same and you still access your booking via the DCL webite (& book ressies etc).

Couldn't be easier. :thumbs-up

Iv just priced the 7 night Eastern Magic Cruise for Oct 08 with Dreams & Allseasons and Allseasons came out best by $85, not loads but every little counts. Dreams & DCL were same exactly!
That said, we really can't afford it next year but I wanted to get an idea of price so we can start saving for 2009!!

The Walmart website (travel section) is always worth checking.
