hiya, just wondered if it will still be possible to hop from park to park ( i really can't see me in one park from very early morning to late) during the very busy christmas and new year period as i've heard parks get closed when they are full.
does this just mean no NEW people are allowed in, or are you stuck in whichever park you went to first? :confused2
following information here on the dibb, i plan to be at the park for opening time, but i also want to do fantasmic and illuminations but i really don't think i could last 12 hours in a park especially if its mega busy. i was thinking along the lines of morning at epcot, boat to mgm and doing dinner/fantasmic.
i know its 9 months away but i'm on my millionth itinerary!
Well, we did MGM on New Year's Eve and people were still being let in when we left. I guess it also depends on the weather, if it's good, the crowds increase. Saying that, we had fantastic weather - hoping for the same this year - and we found it all pretty manageable. Like you, we got to the parks early to do the rides we wanted. I would recommend booking the Fantasmic Dinner Package to make sure you get seated for Fantasmic, we did that on new years eve, and have also booked it for August, worth every penny! :thumbs-up

thanks mazzy, i've got the brown derby fantasmic package on my plans...the day keeps changing but i've looked at the menu and i defo think this is the one for me. was thinking of doing it the same day as the segway tour at epcot, thats why i wondered about being able to park hop.
I think with MGM you will be OK. Magic Kingdom is another kettle of fish, it's a park I would do early on. We haven't eaten at the Brown Derby, but love Mama Melrose (Italian) and also the buffet at Hollywood & Vine is great for choice. I hope you manage to keep your balance on the segway tour! ;)

...all i'll say on that matter is, i'll use the £250 from 'you've been framed' as a deposit for my next trip!
mama melsrose does look good, but we love olive garden on I drive so will be doing that a couple of nights, so don't want to over do the italian food.
i've got crystal palace pencilled in for breakfast so that will get us to magic kingdom nice and early.
all little tips i've picked up from you lovely dibbers!
Yes, make sure you take the video camera! ;) Oh, we love the crystal palace. We love their lunch buffet, it's absolutely wonderful - something for everyone, and I especially love the cornbread - yum! I have no itinerary for our trip yet, as I'm preoccupied with the August trip. I guess I better make some time to sort it out though, we ADRS needing to be made in June, I keep forgetting how far ahead you need to book them!
We were there this Christmas and New Year and only on 2 days out of the 14 we were in WDW did they close parks to the general public (ie non-WDW resort guests) -these parks were Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom (!!!) - presumably because of Everest?
We park hopped most days as have never been able to spend all day in one. On Xmas Eve - we did MK in the morning and then went to MGM around 1pm as we had the Fantasmic Dinner Package booked - had no problem getting in.

hiya, thanks mazzy and sue.
the days i'm most keen to hop about are ( slight hold up while i refer to itinerary number 948!) wednesday 2nd jan and thursday 3rd jan. basically get to epcot early one day and move over to MGM for fantasmic and on the other day do MGM early and hop over to epcot for illuminations ( i know its probably silly but i've never managed to stay a whole day in one park ). the days we are doing magic kingdom i plan to do crystal palace breakfast one day and on the next visit, get there early again but leave to go to the grand floridian for afternoon tea....subject to change of course!
I think you will be fine doing that. We did find, however that January 2nd was very busy, it was their kind of bank holiday, but that was Magic Kingdom. If it was me I would probably do EPCOT/MGM Fantasmic on Jan 2nd, as you are booking the Fantasmic Package you are sorted for your seat, whereas it might be difficult to get a good spot for Illuminations if the parks very busy. By January 3rd things should be starting to quieten down a bit, depends really when the US schools go back, I would be interested to know that too. I will try to find out today and report back if I do.
