Please can I have some help sorting out what tickets I need? Any other comments about itinerary would be welcome too (unless I've done something really stupid and then I'm not sure I want to know! )

There are 7 adults and 2 children (8 and 3) and we arrive in Orlando on 8th April.

9th - breakfast at Chef Mickey then Magic Kingdom
10th - water park - not sure which one - suggestions?
11th - Bibbidi bobbidi boutique and lunch with Cinderella
12th - Busch gardens - safari
13th - Seaworld - shark dive for 4 of us.
14th - Universal - last day of Mardi Gras and meeting up with US friends
15th - MGM? Not sure about this. Maybe Dixie Stampede in the evening
16th - Manatee swim at Crystal river
17th - Animal Kingdom
18th - Epcot
19th - Amazing Exotics primate encounter
20th -
21st -
22nd - leave in the evening

MGM and Epcot are not fixed and we've left free days so we can decide what we want to do most - be it somewhere we haven't been or going back somewhere or shopping!

I haven't included evening events though obviously we plan a few nights out and night parades and fireworks - we thought we might do those depending on how well we were all holding up after a manic day!

So, what tickets do I need to get? I've considered two options but there may be something I've missed.

14 day Disney, 5 day flex and Dixie tickets
or
7 day Disney, Universal ticket, seaworld and busch gardens ticket and Dixie tickets.

Advice please?

Personally i would give BG a miss on a 2 week trip as it is alot to fit in. I think a 4 park flex ticket is what you need and then you can have unlimited visits to SW and US/IOA over a 2 week period ( 5 park if you include BG) Also Fantasmic at MGM is very good you could book a fantasmic package for that. I would get a 14 day ultimate ticket too as you can then visit the water parks .If you have a quiet day you can then also go back at night just for the fireworks. That way you have something to do every day and can chop and change if you prefer something more than another .

Dont miss out on MGM!!!! its a brilliant park with something for everybody - great shows, cool rides and of course Fantasmic - you simply CANT go to Disney and not see fantasmic!!!

Also Epcot is a must even if you only go for the last 2 hours of the evening to ride Soarin and watch Illuminations - the most amazing firework display I have EVER seen - just magical :)

I havent been to any of the water parks so haven't any personal experience of which is best. Remember though that if you get the FlexTicket (either 4 or 5 park) that Wet and Wild is included.

If ticket price is an issue and you are happy enough with Wet and Wild as a water park rather than a Disney Water Park, you could save a considerable amount by buying 10 day base Magic Your Way Disney tickets rather than the 7 or 14 day Disney Ulitimate/Premium tickets. (Once you get to 5 days the difference in price for 6,7,8,9,10 day tickets is pretty neglible).

A adult 10 day MYW (with park hopping, expires in 14 days) costs $270 (£138). This covers the 4 Disney parks but not the water parks or clubs in DTD. If you don't want to hop from one park to the other it costs even less $227 (£116).

The 7 day Premium costs £159 and the 14 day £170. With 9 people, if you were willing to take the 10 day MYW pass and not hop parks the difference between the dearest (10 day ultimate) and the cheapest (no hop 10 day) is a considerable £54 X 9 = £486 which would go a long way towards food or souvenirs.

I took the prices off undercovertourist.com but they are roughly the same everywhere, a few dollars more at the gate but the above gives a rough idea of price savings.
