Both are great, but Illuminations is our favourite.
Wishes is lost on me - not enough Wow (I seem to be immune to magic. lol). I loved the Wishes cruise though, but still the fireworks didnt light up my soul. On the other hand Illuminations is just fantastic. They really have the tingle factor. The fireworks and the music are the best.I wouldnt mind having to miss Wishes but I couldnt go without seeing Illuminations twice at least each trip.

Illuminations for us too. :spin:
ALL the fireworks are wonderful and ALL make me cry! If I had to choose it would have to be Illuminations though.
Vabeth - I took a course today and 2 of my 12 trainees were wearing Crocs - did think of The Dibb of course!

Wishes for me  Its the whole fairytale thing that does it with the castle backdrop, the music. DH standing holding me, looking at me crying while grinning ear to ear, my kids with me and not a worry in the world. Its the same whether its Wishes or Fantasy in the Sky.
DH however prefers Fantasmic
while we both enjoy the feeling after Illuminations of walking around World Showcase all lit up and seeing the fountains on the way out. Its kinda romantic in a way. Take your time and soak up the atmosphere rather than rushing for transport to hotel.
Awwwwwwwwww got 219 sleeps still !!!!

Definately Illuminations....we've seen it sooooo many times our DD can tell us what's coming up next and she's only 2yrs old! Nothing beats standing in Canada with a nice cold Labatts! :drinkbeer
Wishes is also fantastic....definate improvement on the last firework show they had at MK.
Illuminations for me. It has a lot more drama, spectacle and sheer wonder - and some amazing music. Don't get me wrong, Wishes is a lovely show but tends to lean more on the side of magic and whimsy and Disney character voices (and it has some nice coloured firework effects) which is nice but does not have the power of Illuminations.
I'd do Wishes first, and you'll love it. Then do Illuminations for the Wow factor.

im definatly in the minority, just got back, didnt bother with illuminations, seen it twice now and thats plenty, we find it a bit boring as there is nothing 'disney' about it, just fireworks over a lake (prepares to get flamed lol) oh and last time as half the parks people were downwind there were hundreds of people in the toilets in agony trying to get ash and pieces of fireworks out of there eyes after lol.
Wishes on the other hand has it all! magic, characters, the goosebumps. i just cant get enough! (thats why i bought the soundtrack lol) went and watched it twice, absolutly breathtaking everytime!!!

I guess that's one of the things I like about Epcot though, it shouldn't have anything specifically 'Disney' (as in animated characters and pixie dust, etc) about it. That's what the Magic Kingdom is for.
I guess it's the difference between Italian and Chinese food - they may both be great in their own ways, but no matter how much you enjoy Chinese you don't expect to go to a nice Italian restaurant and be offered sweet & sour king prawns and fried rice.

I love them both but Wishes is my fav!

Both make me want to cry, they are so magical. I love the music for Wishes and it always reminds me of our last night in WDW, but Illuminations has the fireworks and the wow factor as well. It's a toughy really, pick you favourite park and do whichever is there I'd say!

I loved the special Christmas/New Year Illuminations, absolutely beautiful - but my all time favourite is Wishes. It's the music that does it, I'm normally in tears by the end.

Between Wishes and Illuminations - no contest - definately Wishes. Our favourite fireworks overall are - 1. Fantasmic (MGM), 2. Wishes, 3. Illuminations

Got to be Illuminations. :pgig: Last time we went into Epcot on our first night just to see it. We were absolutely shattered and drinking coffee to stay awake, but it was so worth it. I just felt like I'd come home! Gosh that sounds really sad.!
We always see it at least twice and ALWAYS on the last night!!
Wishes is brilliant as well, but usually only see that once per trip. Same as Fantasmic!
