Taking a nearly 4 yo and just 6 yo (both boys). Have yet to take them to RFC in London. Just wondering what people's views are?

I haven't been to RFC but the theming sounds better inside. saying that though I've read reports that it's really noisy and the animals can frighten young children. My dd loved Boma at 2.5, as it was buffet and then we went out to see the animals afterwards.

For my DD there's no contest, has to be RFC. Going to London next week for DHs birthday and she's insisting we go to RFC even though I said it was his choice. We've been to the one at DTD at both WDW and DLC.

I would say RFC. Ive done both with kids and they both enjoyed RFC more. It is geared towards young children with its jungle theme.
However I do like going over to AKL to see the animals. They might enjoy that too.

A lot of little ones are terrified of the noises in RFC, there are lots of loud animal noises and thunder and lightning, so if this is the sort of thing to scare your children I would steer clear.
Boma is not really noisy and might be a better choice. You could go outside afterwards and see some real animals on the savannahs.

Actually the noisier one might be better for mine - they might be drowned out for once:blush:

My kids were terrified in the RFC, Katie spent most of the meal hiding under the table. There's no theming at Boma but I would prefer to eat their than RFC, the food is better, it's less noisy and my kids weren't scared - plus you can go outside and see real animals afterwards

RFC.Food good great all round.Took an 18mth old there once no probs.Kids love the flashing cups!
Our Kids loved Boma and the AKL. We had Christmas dinner there last year, got to the hotel a couple of hours early and soaked in the atmosphere and watched the Animals for a while then had dinner at 17:00. The first time we went to Boma the kids would have been the same age, i.e 3 3/4 and 6, and they had asked to go back when we went last year.

We went to RFC at Downtown disney with our 8 and 6 year olds, they loved it. yes the rolls of thunder can be a little scary but if they are OK with, say, Wishes fireworks then they'll be fine. the food is Ok - my advice is to avoid the fancier offerings and stick with the excellent RFC burgers. In my view RFC is a "must do" in Orlando. Expect to queue after about 12.30 at lunchtime.

RFC everytime. The food at Boma is strange! Also very expensive. Not much choice for kids either.
I took my DGS 2.5 and DGD 10 with 6 adults and all of us hated it!
The real animals are good but would never eat at Boma again.

everyone has different tastes, but I thought the food at Boma was some of the best I've had in Orlando.
The food is much better at Boma (and buffet style), and whilst the restaurant isn't particularly themed, AKL is plus as well as the Savannah viewing area (giraffes etc) there is a playground they can play on before or after to burn off excess energy.
RFC has theming inside, but the food isn't as good, and theres no playground (might be a small play area though?).
I would go for Boma.

RFC for younger children but IMHO it's overpriced for the food you get. But you are paying I suppose for the setting. As I've older children I'd choose Boma every time.
You can't see the animals from Boma but our youngest really enjoyed looking out at the animals through night goggles after our meal.
& remember they are REAL animals not electronic models!
For kids it has to be RF, Boma is just a nice place to eat, RF has all the extras that kids love, although somewhat overpriced, if you kids were a little older I would say Boma because the food is far superior, and they all seem to love helping themselves to the buffet
Haven't been to Boma, but have been to RFC, DD6 loved RFC (me too).
