My fabulous husband has just told me that he is taking me to California next January since I've always wanted to go since.....well forever!!
Can anyone tell me what weather we should expect? We will fly into San Francisco and out of Los Angeles, so we'll be hiring a car. If it's going to be hot and sunny, we'll go for a convertable. Sunny but cool means a lid!
Thanks in advance.
(PS Have you seen my countdown!!!!)
I have been to LA in December/January before and whilst it can get quite chilly in the evenings, the days are fine. We walked around in tshirts with no bother whilst the locals laughed at us as they were all wrapped up. I think the average temp is a bit under 60 - not too sure about it being convertible weather though!

We went in Aug 2002, it wasn't that warm them....great trip though you'll love it....
I've been in November and it was shorts and t-shirts during the day, but jeans and a fleece at night. been in August and it was hot, but still with a bit of a chill in the evening and last year we were there in July and it was a scorcher, the evenings were warm as well as they were having a heatwave, it was when the fires were raging all around LA.
January will be nice in the days, but wrap up at night, not sure about a convertible though.
Love Rio
stick with a hard top car, plus dont bother hiring one till you leave san francisco, parking is a nightmare there plus costs a fortune, stick to the trams while your there its much more fun, then hire a car when you leave SF
