Universal Theme Park, Spain

We have a week-long trip to London planned for July and are thinking of tagging on a trip across the Channel directly afterwards. Of course, now we've been to Florida a few times, lounging on a beach just isn't enough for us, so we're looking for somewhere with lots to do. Any suggestions?

Has anyone been to the Port Aventura Theme Park in Costa Dorada, Spain? I've read reviews that say it's nothing like the Universal Studios Park in Orlando (even though it's run by them) but it still looks like it might be fun.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. :cool2:

Hi ,
we went last year to salou and done the parks water/rides.

To be honest we enjoyed them,the water park is not a patch on Typhoon Lagoon but still fun,you have to pay 2 euro for everything.

There is some great rides here and it is a park for everyone and on a night 12pm they have a fantastic firework show on the lake.

The only thing is we stayed in salou abd didnt like it,thought it was run down and to english but a lot of people do.:wavey:

Hi. We went two years ago and had a great time! Theme park had something for all of us (children then 10 and 13) and the water park was great too (although as previous poster mentioned unlike Disney you are charged for everything!!). We stayed on site at the El Paso which is a lovely hotel within a few minutes walk of the both the water park and the theme park. We found this to be a very relaxed holiday as we went to the park for a while, came back to the hotel for a swim, then went back to the park. Food in hotel was yummy - couldn't fault anything. Staff in parks and hotel were pleasant and polite. Loads of shows to take in, which gets you out of the heat for a while - really high standard IMHO too.
