Hi All
DH and i have booked 3 nights in Dublin in 2 weeks time, we've never been before, can anyone help us with information on the different passes you get especially the Airport pass and the hop - on, hop - off city ones? i believe you can order them on line and pick them up at the airport. We are also staying at the Fleet Street hotel,Has anyone stayed there?

hi
I have stayed at the Fleet Street Hotel . Its right on the corner of the temple bar area so right in the action . nothing special to be honest . 3 star maximum , but you only use it to sleep in

taxi from airport is 24 euro , if they go the direct route . so dont pay more than that. I have been over twice in the last 8 weeks for rugby . been going every year for the last 20 years now . dont bother with getting the airport bus , the taxi is not much more

dont get any passes in advance . only one tour worth doing is the hop on hop off dublin open top city tour . you get tickets in o`connell street opposite the G.P.O . ASK ANYONE . Just go over o`connell bridge crossing the liffey and its about 250 yards up on the right side of the road . you can get off where you like and have a look round then get on the next one and continue the tour etc

traditional irish music played in nearly every temple bar pub afternoon/evening

are you party animals ? if so let me know and tell me your ages and what days you are in dublin and i will let you know some good spots

Thanks for that John, we're going with 2 females who are in the same job as DH but i have never met them. DH and i really like going to pubs and restaurants ( do you know anywhere for a decent Breckie) i think we're past the nightclub stage but don't know what theyll be doing, so any ideas will be much appreciated.

Bewleys in Grafton St(I think ) does good brekkies.

Thers also a really good Irish restaurant in Temple Bar but Ive forgot what its called, its opposite the St John Gogarty Pub which is also a good place for music(upstairs).

We have also eaten at the mexican intemple bar and can reccommend it too.

Have fun..me and friend off for girls night in may.

Just back from three brilliant nights in Dublin. We used a hotel a bit out of the centre as we got a great rate on it, three nights and flights for £200 for the 2 of us. You might want to be a bit more in the centre. We used ths Luas (tram) to get around, which was a bargain at 4.80 euros a day! Don't miss the Guiness Storehouse. We also had a "dirty pint" (!) at the Hapenny Bridge, a great little pub and ate at some wonderful restaurants. As soon as we recover we'll be planning a return trip!

Bewleys is no more - Cafe Bar Deli is occupies the old Bewelys building on Grafton st.

As you are staying in Temple bar then either the Grafton st CBD or the Georges st CBD is well within walking distance for you and their brekkies are good. There is a good greasy spoon that does a good brekkie opposite my place but it is a bit too far for you to walk (even though its on the way to the Guinness storehouse). Its on Thomas St.

If you like comedy then go to the International bar on Saturday night for a good laugh. Get there early though as it does fill up. For a decent pint head to Mulligans on Poolbeg St - its an old mans pub but serves a good pint,or Kehoe`s just off Grafton St.

The Porterhouse at the end of Temple Bar is great as they serve their own brewed beer and porter. They also have live music sessions in there and good food.

For a lovely bottle of wine and some tasty bits to eat head to Enoteca Delle Langhe which is in Millennium walk - get to eliza Blues restaurant then head over the bridge and up the pedestrianised walkway. Its a really nice spot up that walkway and if the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy a good coffee or glass of lovely Italian wine and munchies!!

There are plenty of places to eat and drink in Dublin but I would advise to head out of Temple Bar a bit as it can just end up you being in a pub with all people from the UK so no different to your local.
