Hi, we are thinking of doing AK on first day as we will be up early so good chance to see the animals I'm told. We are staying off site (villa - highlands reserve). Where would be the best place to have breakfast??

Boma - in Animal Kingdom lodge!! We were there today & it was fantastic -a great start to the day & to the holiday (we arrived yesterday!). It is only a short hop (or disney bus ride) direct to Animal Kingdom.
How about a restaurant in AK?

Boma is great, but if you're intention is to get into AKL early to see the animals then I wouldn't bother with Boma on that morning as it will take too much time.
We have eaten at Restaurantosaurus - but plan your ADR carefully - either way before opening so you are done in time for the first ride on the Safari, or later (say 10am) so that you can ride first and then eat.
On our first day last trip, we were up so early that we went to IHOP for breakfast as it is open 24 hours - we were there at 5am!! Perkins is also open 24 hours and I think so is Dennys - any of these could be a good choice if you are awake at silly o'clock in the morning.
We did breakfast at IHOP, shopping at Walmart and still made it to MK for rope-drop!

How about the character meal Donalds Breakfastsaurus which is in Animal Kingdom. We did this on our 1st morning of our 1st visit & really enjoyed it.
Because we were up early we got to the park for opening & did all the main rides. We then had a late booking for breakfast.
Eating later meant the kids weren't desparate to go on the rides, they'd already done some. Provided us with a sit-down, cool break & yet meant we didn't have to stop for lunch.
How about skipping breakfast (just have a banana or some fruit), do some rides, then go to the character breakfast in AK for last sitting ...I think it is about 10am?

Some fab replies there so thanks, but hey now you gave me too much choice....how will I decide????? I think maybe Bomas or a Character Breakfast sounds good to start our first day but I do like the idea of having a later brekkie so we can get straight on the rides at opening time then sit down after an hour or so.
