View Full Version : Can anyone else taste the tap water on salad?
I've just remembered from last year that the salad always tasted of their tap water, which for me had a strong kind of sulphur type taste. I know others have noticed it in the drinking fountains in parks. But it seems most restaurants must use tap water to wash the salad.
My DW didn't seem to taste this, so is it just me or can anyone else detect this?
It always spoilt meal to a degree.
This is a huge *bump* apologies for that, but I had completely forgotten about it...whoops.
Slightly surprised at no response, so is it just me?
cant say i noticed it to be honest. do notice it in the drinking fountains though

I have never noticed the taste on salads ..
not too keen on the tap water but then again the overpowering chlorine is about all I can taste in that too...
I have never tasted in on salads. I will drink the tap water, but it is not the nicest water I have ever tasted as it has a metallic taste to it.

I have never noticed it & I have a lot of salads there. TBH, they usually have so much dressing on, I don't think I'd notice (Yes, I know that's not as healthy, but they are yummy!!)
Never noticed it and had loads of salads there...
We have salad a lot in Fla, but never noticed any taste of sulphur.
Usually stick to bottled water though as not at all keen on the tap water

To be honest I never eat salad away from home. It's always washed in their water and it upsets my stomach. My DW thinks I'll well over the top with it though.

Only noticed it from the water fountains but it didn't bother me.
Must be me then. Although I must admit, I am sensitive to certain flavours. Like the fat used in a lot of processed foods and fast food outlets over here. Sometimes, I can taste a nasty kind of overpowering 'piggy' flavour in McD's chips, and the same in some oven chips and crisps. I've even detected it in OXO cubes!
