Well, after considering Center Parcs, we've decided to get a Disney fix instead!:D We're taking the kids, so we've gone for the Davy Crockett Ranch cabins, so we don't have to share a bedroom with them. 5 nights, of which we expect to do 3 days at the parks, with some Paris sightseeing on the other days.

So..... any advice? Tips? Must-do's, (must avoids?)... give us your thoughts please!

I love the Blue Lagoon restaurant, Walt's, Cafe Mickey character meal (lunchtimes are the quietest), character tea at the Plaza Gardens. Also wanted to try the Auberge de Cendrillon but it was closed when we went!!
Space Mountain is great (much better than WDW!), Buzz Lightyear is good (lasers aren't fixed like in WDW), Indiana Jones, Big Thunder Mountain (also better than WDW!), and RnRC.
I love DLP and it'll be even better when they open the new Toontown area and the ToT! May need a trip back there at Xmas!

We went last Oct. Really like Davy Crockett's Ranch. From experience do and don't:
Do use the Indoor swimming pool - some good slides and a nice relax from the crowds
Do make use of the breakfast facilities - its good fun for the kids to go down to the outpost to collect croissants, bread, chocolate spread, etc
Do go to the mini-farm type thing, my kids enjoyed the pony rides
Do go to the designer outlet village (we kitted out the kids in expensive winter clothes for not a lot) - if it's your type of thing
Don't go to the on-site restaurant - I just don't get this buffet style meal. Pay £15-20 each for school dinners??
That’s all I can think of. For the money it's great.

Annettes Diner is the best value food on site (Disney Village). Most other meals we find either over priced or down right 'orrible!

If you go into Paris, avoid rush hour (obvious really, but we came back at 6pm and it was horrific!). Stay late or come back earlier. Get the Paris Visit ticket and you can use that on the metro too. The Bateaux Mouche (I think thats the right spelling!) or boat trips are an excellent way to see Paris, as is the open top, jump on jump off buses.

We found the best food was at the Hard Rock Cafe (not very adventurous, but we arent keen on snails or horse ;) ). If you want to go up the Eiffel Tower make an effort to arrive early, or after 4pm when the tour buses leave. Queues are massive, and in 3 trips to Paris, have never made it up there yet! The Arc de Triomph has much shorter qs and is still pretty high. The view from the Sacre Coer is also worth the climb!

Have a great trip!

AS you can see by my sig we love DCR we started going when we took all 3 kids - we wouldn't fit into a Disney hotel. Back then there were only Disney hotels.

But we've continued to go so that we don't have to share a bedroom with the kids! and as teenagers the youngest 2 on our last visit were willing to share a room but not a bed.

DD 15 insisted on seeing the reindeer on our last visit, something different.

We always use the pool have been told it's one of the best on-site.

in 2005 we ate at the restaurant twice & found the food fine.

Our fav meal was at the chinese at Val d' Europe shopping centre, Le Dragon d'europe. we also stock up at the Auchan hypermarket, great wine selection.

Anything you buy at the parks can be delivered to the shop at DCR the same evening. Just tell the CM before they ring the item through the till. Especially good if you buy ride photos.

As for paris our have been up the Eiffel Tower & enjoyed it plus you can climb to the top of the Arc de Triomphe. DH is fascinated watching the traffic from the top, sad I know!

Another vote for DCR ,we loved it when we went ,
DO make sure you get to Auchen supermarket as you can stock up on snacks ect,if you can`t get there then use the shop at the trainstation for snacks and drinks -much cheaper than in the park and they also sell fruit!!

The food at the ranch changed to the Buffet style last year, which is unfortunate as before that the food was really good. The pool is lovely and we always make an effort to use it.
We have stayed at dcr 10 times, the onsite shop is expensive but does have a nice supply of basic food bread, coke, chips etc.
ask any questions you like.
We love eating at the steak house in dtd it is expensive for evening meal but really really nice. We also like the sunday brunch at the steak house.
