View Full Version : New York Hotel
Hi, can anyone recommend a hotel in New York? As central as possible and not too expensive please, only going to stay 3-4 nights and doesn't have to be posh just clean and not in a dodgy area, thanks.

I've booked Hotel Metro in New York for June - reviewers on the tripadvisor website seems to like it - not many groans about it. And you get a brilliant view of Empire State Building from the rooftop terrace/bar (I'll be there most nights!! I hope!!)

We stayed at Milford Plaza on Broadway and a short stroll from Times Square. Also the Edison which was one block away from Milford Plaza. I would always choose to stay in this location. We did once stay near Empire State.

I stayed at the Roosevelt. It was within walking distance of TOTR and only 2 streets in front of the Waldorf, which is the stop for the Greyline hop on hop off bus tour.

I too have stayed and the Milford Plaza and loved the location. I stayed at the Bedford last time near grand central rooms were very large with kitchenette which was handy. I have stayed in millennium broadway which was more expensive but very nice
We stayed at The Salisbury Hotel - opposite Carnegie Hall, just south of Central Park - HUGE rooms, clean and great location.

We stayed at the Barclay Intercontinental on E48th Street next door to the Waldorf. It was very nice but if I went again I would look to stay in the Soho area, much more fun!

We stayed at the Hudson on 58th. http://www.hudsonhotel.com/2 blocks from Columbus circle and the bottom of Central Park. Fantastic Hotel, the rooms are small but both the bar and the private park are fantastic
Thanks everyone for your replies, I really appreciate it. I'm going to find some time on Saturday to look all these up coz I've got a WHOLE day off work on that day!! Any other suggestions?

I have stayed at the Park Central, its opposite cargenie Hall and within walking distance between, time square and central park,
I have also stayed at the roosevelt, this was lso in the thick of things but just far enough away from time square to make it slightly quieter.
I got good offers from both through Airline network, it may be worth rining them as they gave me better offers than avertised on their website.

Another thumbs up for Hotel Metro.
Will be in Manhattan next week, seeing Mary Poppins, Jersey Boys, Curtains, ( and hopefully ) The Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway and finishing off with The Killers at MSG.

In NYC next week too. Nothing booked other than some tickets for the Yankees one night.
Will expect to pick up tickets for the Killers from a tout on the night.
