have been pricing a holiday for a week in june, the least expensive i could get for europe excluding spain was £350, i can go to orlando for £375! and i still have my annual pass. will have to make d.h. eggy dip for lunch!
Yes it is, especially with the $ being so good at the moment:wave:
The thing you need to do is cost out the holiday as a whole package - not just cost of flights in order to try and compare.
For Florida you'll need to add in (as appropriate)
UK Car parking / Taxi
Insurance
Park tickets
Car Hire
Accommodation
Spending money
Food
etc etc
So, the basic holiday may be a bit cheaper but by the time you add all the extras to make the trip worthwhile it may work out a lot more expensive.

florida for a week
international drive
flight and hotel with thomsons £379 x2
car with travelsupermarket £89
annual pass
annual insurance
spending money to include food £250 ( we don't do posh and take advantage of senior discounts}
live a local bus ride away from gatwick {granted not everybody is so lucky}
cyprus hotel and flight £300x2
car £85
spending money including food £300 {rate of exchang is awful}
the rest is the same
so just over £100 difference for the two of us
