Hi All,

Looking at this hotel, has anybody stayed here before ????, what is it like???? I have heard that you have to get a Minibus service from the car park to the hotel as it is so remote - is this true??

Hi,

DH and I stayed here in 2005 and whilst we definitely didn't need to get a minibus from the car to the hotel, DH informs me that there is a multi storey car park at the hotel which does require a minibus to the hotel.

Hopefully the closer car park wont be too busy during your stay as i guess the multistory one is an overflow.

As for the hotel, We found the rooms and communal areas clean and comfortable but we did feel a little out of place and we felt the staff at check in looked down their noses at us a little (we'd just checked out of the Gaylord and felt that the hotel was of a comparable standard but the staff were much friendlier.)

The hotel feels as if it caters more towards the high end business market which most people would be ok with but we did feel a little uncomfortable.

Other than that we had no issues with the hotel and I'm sure you will have a good time.

Hope this helps

the hotels fine ,rooms are pretty much standard marriott ,but the hotel is huge and has lovely pools, with slides etc for the kids.the multi story car park is a short walk through the convention centre,or you can take the complimentary bus,but its only a 5 min walk 10 if your a slow walker lol.its ina really good position though ,close to disney and right on the I-4 for quick access to universal and wet and wild .we liked the hotel ,but would prob try the renaissance at seaworld next time, its just had a multi million dollar renovation and has the largest standard rooms in orlando apparantly

Hi there, We stayed in this hotel December last year. It's a very nice hotel.... and very BIG. There were alot of business people there whilst we were there, this didn't bother us that much but we found the hotel communal areas were very busy.

We were on the 28th Floor (the highest one available) and while we had great views across to Disney (great for watching wishes at MK!) etc....it was very cold up there! :pgig:

If you're non-drivers like us they provide transport but I believe it's only free to Disney....you'd have to pay to go to US & Seaworld. If you're driving then there is a minibus to the car park. The only parking available at the front of the hotel now is for valet parking and of course you have to pay extra for this.

You cannot go anywhere on foot from this hotel as there are no footpaths... so again if you are non-drivers then you are stuck there once you get back for the day.

We enjoyed our stay but if I'm being honest we wouldn't go back just because we don't drive and we felt isolated.

We are going next week (this was 2nd choice to the Renaissance). Will let you know once we get back.

Note: they only provide transport to Disney and not to other places (as advised in the Virgin Brochure)

Stayed in 2004 for two weeks. It really is a fabulous hotel, but it is definitely a business person hotel. We didn't use the facilities that make it a 4/5 star hotel - the spa, golf course etc because we were either at the parks or by the pool. My only gripe was that they tried to charge us $7 per day for parking ($12 for valet), even though this was included with our Virgin package.

Micky - Honestly the best way for it to speed up is to worry about other things in your life and completly forget about your trip lol. 200 days ago we booked this trip and they have pretty much flown by. Looking back though, there were moments when time was not moving like days 63,78,32 from what i remember.

We stayed here in December 2004 and loved it! We used the valet parking which, even though a bit more expensive was well worth it.

We thought the hotel staff were all really friendly and even though I'd booked through Priceline (and I wondered if we'd get poorer service as our room was so cheap!) we were put in a lovely room with a gorgeous balcony overlooking the pool.

My kids loved the pool and also the buffet breakfast where the chefs made Mickey Mouse shaped goodies to order!

I never considered it an isolated hotel as we tend to hop in the car for everything.

We would defo stay there again. :)

Hi, we stayed here 2 years back and there is a car park at the rear.near the tennis courts and gym........you drive up to the hotel and just before you get to the line of limos, waiting for people ....turn right...and there is large car parks at the rear....keep straight on and its the last 2 on your left..( the first 2 on your right are for employees...you just put your room key in the slot to open the barrier..........

We stayed here two years ago and are staying here again this year. I can't really fault this hotel. Location is excellent close to Disney and I4. Staff were great. Rooms were large with excellent panoramic views. There is a shuttle bus which runs every five minutes to the car park. The pool area was superb great for kids and adults.

Is it easy to grab a taxi to DTD or does their 'free' Disney transport include DTD? We will have a car but not picking it up until the following day at DTD.
