Cheapish Hotels near Miami South Beach and in Key West?

While were away we are going to drive down to the Keys and to Miami.

We are planning on one night in Key West and two in Miami.

So far have decided (we think!) on Best Western Hibicus in Key West but cant decide on one in Miami.

Want to stay near to South Beach but dont mind being on Collins Ave or Washington Ave as long as it is near Ocean Drive end.

Can anyone recomend any hotels?

We have approximately £300 for all three nights.

I can't recommend anything in Miami but I've stayed at a couple of properties in Key West which I can highly recommend.

Heron House (http://www.heronhouse.com/home.htm)
Azul Key West (http://azulhotels.us/azulkeywest/main.html)

The latter only opened last year and is a bit more expensive but they are both very central and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and to Duval Street where everything happens in the evening.

We are staying at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, Key West on May 15 and 16.

We have never stayed there before so I can't tell you about it. It's costing us $179 per night. We have booked a double room. Free poolside breakfast and internet access is included in the price. It's looks good on the website anyway :)

I'm sure it's not too posh, the owners are actually from Essex and very down to earth lovely people. Sorry didn't realise that Heron wouldn't just do one night.

Wherever you decide to go you'll love it, it's a good idea to stay somewhere within walking distance as those Margheritas pack a punch :blush:

Would like to stay somewhere central anyway so we can ditch the car for at least one day!
