View Full Version : Crocs for Men?

Hi,

I was wondering what type of Crocs to buy my husband? Or should I not buy him a pair at all? I have ordered a pair of scutes style and my daughter has the new dolly shoe style. My husband always wears a kind of velcro sporty sandal around the Florida parks, but last year his feet were a tad smelly:confused2 and he likes comfort.
What do you think?
Thanks
Debbie

My DBF has the Scutes in navy and they look fine. Not sure there are any others really unless he likes the clog style.

We saw lots of men in Crocs around the parks, why not let him choose or is he like my DH and would go for something hideous!?!

I wanted pink as well (come on, I AM on holiday) but the other half threatened to go to a different park if I did. I got the brown ones, very conservative, but most comfy footwear ever.

I have the Clogg type ones and they are fantastic, bought them last year and boy do I look good in them!!!!!!!:d: But then with my good looks everything looks good on me!!!!!!

Wait till you get to the states though as I only paid 15 quid for mine and they are at least 30 in the UK.

This is going to sound silly, but until last i hadonly ever heard of cros on the DIBB, never heard anyone else talking about them or didn't even know what they looked like. I went away last week to Great Yarmouth and every shop myself and dw2b went in, they sold them. Went out last weekend and all my mates were talking about them. Went back to work on Monday and all i could hear is people talking about Crocs...Like them or loathe them (I haven't decided yet!!) I think they are about to take over the world!!!

Completely not about your question, but has any one else had a problem with crocs? I tried a pairon last week and walked around the shop for a couple of minutes and felt my heel starting to burn from the so called 'massager' bobbly bits. So I'm afraid to buy a pair now. Will the pain pass or do I just have weird feet?

The first time I tried some I thought they were uncomfartable but after a while I can't take them off now ha ha..I have the mary janes style and wear the caymans (clogg style) mostly around the house...I don't know what they will say at work when I turn up with them on...My hubby bought himself a pair while on holiday and he has always got them on.His are khaki beach

My DH is getting a pair of Caymans for this years trip! At first he wasn't too keen on the idea but after noticing more and more men wearing them they've grown on him!
I usually suffer terribly with my feet but seeing me walking round WDW for 2 weeks without a single pain or blister suitably impressed him!
I'm pleased he's seen sense as there's no way i'm putting up with 3 weeks in a hotel room with his stinky, sweaty trainers! :omg: :pgig:

They may well be the most comfortable and fashionable things to wear at the moment...

but then so were shell suits....

By all means, get a pair.. just be prepared to look back at your holiday photos in 10 years time and go... "good grief, what was I thinking !!!"

Bought DH some last year as something easy to put on his feet following a hip replacement. All visitors thought they had been provided by the hospital as orthopaedic shoes!!! He was the butt of all jokes for ages .......... until he persuaded me to get some as they were so comfortable. All our friends/family have some now as they are so comfy. DH likes brown/black/navy and is going to have another pair in Florida. DD and I will get some mary janes out there.

:thumb: Croc's Rule!!!!!! DH was going on and on about these bloody shoes and I was having none of it. We went to a shop in our local town and I was converted!!!!:d: Walked around the shop with them on for ages and wanted a pair. DH wanted the brightest colour in the shop which was ORANGE:mad2: I went mad, so he now has a pair of Sea Blue and I have Turquoise. DD and DS are getting theirs this week. We will put The Croc Queen to shame.
Love ya really!!!!

LOL I would love to have seen the scaffolder! I really cant see the problem with men wearing Crocs. The scute style are very similar to a lot of shoes men wear in the summer anyway. Mind you still havent decided whether to get him any yet! Might go out this weekend and make him try some on!

I can't at the moment imagine a reason for a man to be wearing crocs.

Has he been struck on the head by a piano, Sylvester and Tweety style? Is it for a bet like the man who had boobs for a year??

Update! I did succumb and bought some, but with only 4 days left of our holiday. The reason was that my perfectly good, comfortable trainers became unwearable due to an unbearable odour  caused by getting them wet several times in the parks. It was embarrassing taking them off to try shoes and crocs on  I wore the Croc's continually from then on and they were perfectly good for the task in hand. Now they're safely away awaiting our next trip away sometime

Oh, you rotten lot!

I have a painful problem with my feet (Mortons Neuroma). After asking on here for shoe advice, I was set on the Croc's idea, but admittedly not the style becaue the best for foot problems are the clog type :(

I was about to order some today regardless, and I come accross this thread!

So, painless feet or style?

I DON'T KNOW NOW!

If you decide to buy them get them in the States, they are so much cheaper, I was undecided about them and didnt buy them. I now love them and bought some the other day (BRIGHT PINK )...£30.00. Twice as much as in U.S.
They do nice black ones for men!!!

Is it me and my family or are we odd. I/we would not be seen dead (never mind alive!) in crocs. Someone somewhere dared someone to wear them and they did, and someone being like a sheep has followed them! Give me a nice pair if sneakers (nike, adidas or puma) anyday, crocs no way.

Sorry for having my/our say.

I wear crocs because they are extremely comfortable and not because they are the latest fashion trend! With a medical complaint that means i suffer from extremely painful feet these are the only shoes i can wear 24/7 and be totally pain free in! I wore them constantly in WDW last year and had cool, comfy, dry feet unlike the others in my party who were wearing hot, sweaty, smelly trainers!
DH was so amazed by the fact that i remained comfortable and pain free during that trip that he's now agreed to get a pair for this years holiday! His change of mind has also been aided slightly by the fact that i have threatened to throw away his stinky old trainers - there's no way i want to spend 3 weeks in a hotel room with them! ;)

Its been great to read all your posts! I am wearing my scutes as we speak, but I dont think they are as comfortable as my nieces, not quite as spongy, she has the clog style. My husband says he wont wear a pair and he will stick to his sporty velcro sandal type things that he had last year, but I think I will buy him a new pair as I think these will now be sweat ridden from last year!

Thanks everyone for your opinions.

I tried my hairdresser Emmas crocs on on Thursday...they made my feet look like boats...so that's enough for me not to buy them...Emma loves them...and I'm amazed that she's talked her mum dad and brother into getting them too....thankfully her other half has more sense...
