Hi All,
am hoping that you can help me and come up with some suggestions for our upcoming trip ( September) This will be our 3rd trip in 3 years and we would like to do something a bit different.
We have decided that we aren't going to do Disney, except maybe Typhoon or Blizzard. But are going to do Seaworld, Busch Gardens and Universal.
Also wanting to do Kennedy and Manatee swim and then go down and have 2 nights Miami, 3 nights Keys.
This will leave us with 4 days in the Orlando are, so any suggestions? ( am trying to persuade DH to at least do MK and Epcot, but no luck so far!)
Also with regards to Miami, what are your recommendations on things to do here?
I quite fancy John Pennekamp State Park and Dolphins Plus in the Keys, but any more sugesstions would be very welcome.

What about Discovery cove?? There's loads to do outside the theme pasrks, here are just a few examples: a trail ride on horseback, no experience necessary, the only way to see the real oralndo countryside and wildlife! take a ballon ride, or go on a boat trip, go waterskiing, airboat trip, gatorland, ripleys believe it or not, or wonderworks, take a trip to clearwater, or boggy creek, or maybe silversprings! or you could try wet n wild instead of BB or TL! Play mini golf, my kids love that!!take a trip to daytona or Tampa, or just relax by the pool in the day and do something in the evening, like a dinner show! The list is endless, there's so much to do outside, we only do 3 or 4 days at the theme parks every year! have fun!:wavey:

For a nice , peaceful day out experiencing more of the "real" Florida, visit Lake Louisa State Park. It's really easy to get to up Highway 27 (and nice and cheap at only $4 entrance fee!)

You took the words right out of my mouth!!! LOL!!. Good job I read the posts first. Its a really great place and the $4 entrance fee is per car, not person.

Another great place is Celebration. Its a lovely place, with a lake and some lovely shops- just off the 192 near maker 8.

We always spend time at the Boardwalk - walk around the lake and down to Epcot or MGM, or sometimes get the boat from there and then walk back.

Ive also got my eye on this place. I love to see the "real" Florida, and we are staying on Orange Tree this time, located about 2 miles North of the Walmart on the 27.
Roll on July

we have the same 'problem' if you can call it that we love florida and have been 10 times, but although we aren't fed up with parks etc, do like to do something different too, last year we did the police museum nr kennedy space centre - museum, flight in a helicopter and a go on the shooting range ($40pp) we also did the clearwater screamer dolphin watching and speedboat ride, and boggy creek airboat ride, this year we are doing a swim with manatees at crystal river and trip to merrit island nature reserve and cirque du soleil.

for a free diney fix a trip around the hotels such as animal kingdom lodge to see the animals on the savannah, Boardwalk where you can see most of the epcot fireworks for free and look around some other themed hotel, plus of course downtown disney

If you check out my trip reports,I don't do much Disney at all and there may be some ideas to help you there.

Go to Camp Mack in Lake Wales, hire a boat and see real Florida, you go down the waterways to Lake Kissimmee, you see all of Floridas wild life in natural habitat, a truly beautiful and peaceful place to visit, no crowds and not a Mickey Mouse in sight:wave:
