My DH and I have a mixed set of 8 year old twins (turning 9 near the end of the holiday), so are taking it easy the first couple of days - would think they'll flop quite early, but once they get into their stride, they can happily stay up late.

We are staying at AKL (unless we get so spooked by the construction works we move :omg: ).

Will come out of the Disney parks if need be during the day and return later - depending on how everyone is feeling.

Haven't thought too much about ADRs yet, sorting out how to fit in all the parks has been difficult enough :confused2 .

Does this seems reasonable, or is there anything I've got totally wrong?

Thanks for any input

That seems like a great one, the best idea is to not try and cram everything in, and allow yourself plenty of time to return back to parks!

Have you thought about visiting typhoon lagoon or blizzard beach, as I know my 9 year old brother LOVED them, they have great little kids areas with small slides etc, just a thought!

Unfortunately my DH loathes water parks - went to one in Portugal once, and he got a blinding headache within minutes of getting there!!

To be honest, I had to do a lot of juggling to get US and IoA in the schedule - I don't think I could get any more in.

Having said that I know that there is a big golf tournament on at the beginning of November. Maybe he could go and watch and I could take the kids on the free day.........?

Depending on what sort of rides your twins like , I would definitely plan on spending more time at IOA, my boys who were 6 & 8, then 8 & 10 classed IOA as their favourite park both trips.

Unfortunately DD loves the big coasters - she loved Rock n Roller coaster at DLP.
DS is a different kettle of fish - would only go on the small childerns coaster on a visit to a local park with rides park at Easter.
Neither DH nor I are big fans of roller coasters either. I've told her that I'll 'do' Space Mountain and Rock n Roller coaster, with her ONCE, but I have no intention of touch something like Hulk or Fire n Ice with a bargepole!!! Way tooo scary for me!

Perhaps we could split up for an afternoon with DH taking DS to MGM (for example) whilst I do the not too scary rides with DS in IoA? Hhhhhmmmm I feel some tinkering coming on!!

Don't forget there's Spiderman ( the best ride ever ! ) Popye & bluto's barges, ripsaw falls, Jurrasic park, unicorn coaster, cat in the hat , my boys loved them all :)

Maybe I'll change the mixed US / IoA day to a full IoA. We're doing US for a half day (or so) at the start, and I don't know if the kids would be too interested in some of the stuff there - the Terminator show for example, Twister and the Revenge of the Mummy. I know they'll like Shrek and probably Earthquake.
I'm just really hacked off that they've taken out BTTF - it was my favourite ride in Orlando :mad2: .

IMHO If you can manage RnR coaster you can manage Fire and Ice - unless you dont like heights :nonono:

My boyfriend has a problem with water parks too. He gets migraines from the reflections on the water. He cant even have a bath in daylight !! Bizarre.

Oh no, is it really that bad? DD went on it last year at DLP with a friend's DH and loved, but I don't really have an idea of what its like. Do you go upside down, I don't think I could handle that?

Well it pushed my limits. (RnR coaster we are talking about here I hope :confused2) Anyway, I would try and avoid this one if roller coasters arent really your thing. Its dark, loud and very fast !! The launch takes you 57 mph in 2.8 seconds up the first inversion and has 2 roll-over loops and one corkscrew so definately takes you upside down. Mind you, its all over in 3 minutes and I will do it again next time I go :spin:
