Hello,
We have a choice to stay in the DL hotel :pgig: in either the last week of Aug (27th) or during the October half term . Planning on going for 4 nights with the 3 kiddo's (7,11,13) As we will be first timers which do you think would be better.
Thanks
Jules x
for crowds last week in august, the summer season will have ended by then so will be less busy.
October half term will be extremely busy, (most busiest time after Christmas)

I went October half term last year and to be honest it was'nt as crowded as i had thought it would be! Some rides we waited 10 - 15 mins others longer but to be honest i was'nt clock watching either! Like i said to my SIL DD if you go to a place like that you expect to wait then if you get straight on its a bonus! (mind you she was willing to stand in a queue for an hour ( i timed it!) for an autograph!)

We were there then too. Didnt think it was crowded and the theming is nice. As it is obviously halloween. So you get different parades.etc as well as face painting and other stuff around the park.
We also didnt think it was that cold. THe girls were in Tshirts much of the time. THe october before last was better for the weather. But as we usually go at Christmas it didnt seem at all cold for us in october.
I dont like massive crowds and Christmas is busier than halloween and I still dont have a massive problem. We were arriving at the parts most days by ten in the morning and the furthest back we parked was about row 20. Which is not very far back at all.

We went in October a few years ago & it rained most of the week!
Also been just for the day in August. The bonus is the park is open longer in August & the weather should be better. We took fleeces for the evening & left them at Guest storage.
If you make sure you use fast pass in August queues shouldn't be a problem
I'd suggest last week in August: longer opening hours, evening entertainment and better weather.

i went at end of july in 2006 and it was horrifically busy. I wouldnt go at that time again.
For me, even if its as busy October would be better as its not as hot, if you have to queue I woudl rather do it at 15 degrees not 32 degrees!

I would also be grateful for some info to help us decide when to go. If we can go this year then we are thinking of Christmas time although I suspect we will go with mid week and go early-mid December - will this be OK crowd wise? Anyone experienced it around this time? :)

early mid deccember would be ok crowd wise the christmas decorations are up. we have been various times in december and november.
It gets very cold in december but you can pop to the marne la ville(sp) shopping centre and purchase some ski gloves like I did the other year for not too much money. I was pushing a buggy then so maybe that is why my hands were so cold. I think every hour you get fake snow blowing down main street. some times you even get the really stuff. just makes it seem more christmassy to me.
we also love halloween as our dds are at the dressing up stage and last year wandered around dressed as pumpkins which got them a lot of attention. from charaters and cast members. the Parade is a disney villans one and mickey and minnie dresss differently which is nice.
what ever time you go you will have fun as long as you take it as a stand alone park and dont atempt to compare to wdw.
PM if you have any questios i havent covered as i have been over 10 times so should be able o help.

We've been to DLP 3 times, each time in August although the first or second week and have had fantastic weather each time. Also was surprised that it was not as busy as expected and if timed right could get on rides such as POC without queuing!
Don't get me wrong it wasn't deserted but certainly not as bad as I expected for peak time. Also you get the longer hours which makes it better in August.
