Has anyone done this tour? Was it a good experience? Are there any restrictions on photography/Video?

We have done the coach tour that visits the launch pads and firing rooms last year, but was wondering if the up-close tour is better.

Thanks.

We did this last year after my daughter and son in law did the 'normal' tour the previous time they were out there and we all enjoyed it (even me and I am not a 'techie' sort of person. My son in law said it was well worth doing the up close rather than the original. We never had any problem taking photos or videos - the staff seemed to welcome it. This tour also includes a look at a Saturn V Rocket - but be prepared to be gobsmacked, we certainly were!!! Going back again next year and will be doing it again. Enjoy

It is awesome and very poignant. We needed ID for all on this tour.

There are two tours one of which you need photo ID before you are allowed to go on it. Both tours are very good.

Does anyone know if they need passports as photo id, or will driving licences do?

Driving licence will do. So long as you have the pic on it.

Agreed - the up close tour is very good. We did it a couple of years ago and throughly enjoyed it. Great tour guide and great information.

Last year we did the Astronaut Training Experience and got a much more "up close" tour - again really good, and we could literally walk up to the gate for the the launch pad:
