A rest in our room, then shower and dress for our ADR at Kona Café at the Polynesian. We set off for our 7.10 ADR at 5.45 and it was a good job. The boat was in for the Contemporary but we then had to wait for 4 monorails before we could get on, they were all packed. We still managed to get to the Poly for 6.20, first impressions was how noisy the lobby was compared to WL.

We headed upstairs to the Timbu lounge and got a drink, finding two chairs next to a lovely Canadian family. It was absolutely chaotic around here with people waiting for Ohana's and Kona Cafe, it was noisy and busy. Our new friends Andrew and Erica were staying at the Poly and had not booked an ADR but were waiting for Kona - so far and hour and a half! We presented ourselves at Kona at 7.10 to be told there was an approximate 15 minute wait - the company was good so we enjoyed our time - also a great singer came on and sang a fabulous (and funny) version of Jingle Bells in Hawaiian!
We were paged at 7.35 (the longest wait we had for any of our ADR's so definitely worth doing them).

We has seen Kona Café from the monorail and thought it looked like a canteen! But upon being seated, it is a lovely cosy place with a nice atmosphere. Our server was Sammy and she was absolutely brilliant.:thumbs-up. We were offered drinks and then she brought this wonderful warm flat bread with fruity olive oil and parmesan, whilst we read the menu:

We each asked for the same appetisers and entree and had a glass of iced water, with a glass of Chardonnay ordered for our main course.

Appetisers:- Pan-seared lump crab cakes with Asian tartar and pineapple relish:

These were absolutely delicious!
Main course was :- Macadamia Mahi Mahi on mushroom rice with pak choi, lime butter sauce and crispy fried onions:

Very, very nice, but there was a lot of it and neither of us could finish it.

Desserts: Tin had the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Tart with ice-cream, he sais that this was superb and light:

I had the Banana Caramel Creme Brulee which was to die for!! :

We then had a coffee and settled our DDP account - this was nearly the best x1 TS meal we had and we would definitely eat there again. We went downstairs and were going to have a browse in the art shop when Tin shouted to me that the EWP was outside and Wishes had just started. so we wandered out to the pool area and had a magical view of Wishes. We both agreed that we were warming to the Poly and would like to stop there on a future trip...........
After the fireworks we took the monorail over to MK and then got the boat back to WL, arriving back at around 9.45pm. Usual chill and glass of wine on the balcony - bed at 11pm.
