I read about this in the Brits Guide and was considering it to round off the day in style for the twins birthday on 6th Nov.
Has anybody done this? If so, could you, let me know what exactly it consists of, and would you recommend it? The twins will be 9 that day.
Thanks for any info.

We did the Illuminations cruise lat November it was one of the most memorable experiences in ten trips to Orlando you depart from the Beach & Yacht club at about 8-20 and your driver gives you a guided tour around the disney hotels and property MGM etc telling you in detail the history and stories of Walt Disney we had ordered a bottle of Champagne for the trip and we crusied through Disney sights drinking Champagne and listening to the driver until we parked up under the bridge in between Paris & the UK and waited for what was for us the most amazing experience we have ever had, After watching the Epcot Fireworks every year for the past Ten years from different locations around Epcot nothing prepared us for the sight of the Illuminations from the boat it was truley the most amazing experience i cannot reccomend this highly enough. We have tried for a few years to book this cruise and it is very hard to get one but with the advice and help from this site we managed to secure our booking and we will be trying again for this year roll on 90 days before our trip hope this helps

Thanks for that info, as I'm staying on-site, do you know if I can book 90 + length of stay, i.e. 105 days before the actual date?
Cheers

Sorry, it's 90 days for everyone as far as I know. We did the Illuminations one last year and it's fantastic. I think the Wishes cruise is easier to get than the Illuminations one.
If you look on my thread here (http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=92871&highlight=Illuminations) and my post further down (no. 6) it may give you some help to secure a cruise.

We tried for the first time on Sunday, thinking if we don't get it on the first day, we still have another 2 weeks to try.
Followed all the instruction as detailed on this website about ringing. Got through straight away, and got the boat booked on our first attempt. What a result that was.

:wavey: A couple of questions please.......
Do you have to hire the whole boat or just a seat?
How many people do they accommodate?

I think there are 3 boats, one is a motorboat which will handle 4 - 5 people, the other two are pontoon boats, which hold 10 - 12 people. You have to hire the whole boat, but can then 'sub-let' seats!!!!

We have done this twice, both times sharing the boats with other partys. It's a really good experience, and if you share the cost with other groups, then it's actually quite reasonable.
You can get about 10 people on a boat.

Anyone know how much the motor boat is for 4-5 people? Just the 2 of us so not sure if we could stretch to $250. :thumbs-up

According to 2007 Brits Guide it is $179 for 4 people.
If you can share the cost with 10 other people in the pontoon boats, its a bargain!!!

the small boat is actually more than the pontoon boats - best bet is to find another party going at the same time as you and then share the boat.

There's a sticky in Florida Trip Planning where you can hook up with other people to share the hire costs.
That's probably the best way to go.

Thanks all - it looks like it's cheaper than I expected it to be.
