Last time we went (5 years ago) I was impressed to find that all of the disney parks had drinking water fountains all around the parks, so we were able to refill our water bottles frequently. Does anyone know if this is still the case ?

Thanks

Yep, there are stil plenty of water fountains all over the parks!
I remember when DD was younger she had a real obsession with them and couldn't walk past one without stopping for a quick drink! :pgig:

Does it taste ok? - I read US water has a "funny" taste because it contains so much flouride.

It tastes fine if you are thirsty but be warned, not all of them are chilled and warm fountain water is pretty disgusting!

It tastes revolting to me - sort of sulphurous. We bought a filter water bottle and that made it taste normal again :) . It is a sports bottle, but the screw on top also has a filter attachment so when you suck the water out it is drawn through the filter.

It was tasting so normal, that at one point we decided to try the water fountains straight, as we wondered if they had maybe changed the water and it tasted like that anyway. Bleurgh!!! No, the filter was definitely making the difference!

We are going to try it in NI too, when we visit, as DD is allergic to the water there (bizarre!).

Yup - loads of fountains around all of the parks & some have them in the ride queues too. It does taste different from UK tap water - but not undrinkable & if you are thristy - it suffices.

We normally buy a bottle of water when we get to the parks & then refill as we go around the parks. Leaves more money for everything else.

The small bottles of Dasani are best as they will fit in large pockets!

I hate the water aswell- where did you get the bottle from and how much was it? I think that's a fab idea!

My teenagers don't like the taste either. we buy bottled water from the supermarket & take it in with us every day. But when that runs out we do refill from the fountains & insist they drink it! A few moans is better than dehydration

We got this bottle (http://www.naturalcollection.com/natural-products/Bottle-Filters.asp). On the days we just used bum bags it was a pain to have loose, but the days we had a backpack it was OK. I did see people with water bottle straps that went over a shoulder, or hung the bottle from a belt, and either of those would have been useful. They did do a smaller version too, but that one isn't on the website any more, so I guess it sold out. We didn't buy any water at all during the holiday, just used filtered Florida water, and the filter still has plenty of life in it, so it worked out OK, pricewise, too.

If you're not used to it the local water does have quite a funny taste - the flouride! We tended to avoid it first trip - but second trip we did use the water fountains quite a bit. Except the ones where we saw little Britney or Buck jnr with their gobs wrapped around the spouts!!:erm:

A friend of mine at work recommends taking a small amount of juice concentrate to help improve the taste

This year we're taking aluminimum water bottles with a cover that keeps them cool and just refilling them at the fountains. Going to get straps so we can carry them. We should save over $200 doing this. :d:

We think it tastes and SMELLS horrible, we always use bottled water, freezing it the night before and then taking it into the parks with us. We also leave a couple frozen in the car, so when we get back it is just right to drink.
