Just a quick question please!!!

Does any one know where Miami Ink is in Miami (it is the tattoo palour which is taken from the reality show of the same name!)

Its on South Beach... I actually have the address and phone number at home (Obsessed with tattoos?? Moi?? Pfft! I only have 6) ;)

I was really really tempted to delay getting another tattoo done until we go next year, and then driving down to Miami to have one done by Chris Garver (I want some Japanese work which he specialises in)... Only problem is.... The Artists only tend to work there when they are filming (The rest of the time the shop is staffed with local artists)... and for filming you have to apply to be on the show with some suitable story about why you want a particular tattoo doing! Think I might wait until nearer the time, come up with some sob story about coming all the way from England and see what happens!

Miami Ink = power struggle for the remote control in our house... OH hates it whereas its the only TV show I watch on telly week in, week out!!

Digitallove is right, The tattoo artists you see on tv Miami Ink are only there during filming. A tattooist we know recently went there and had a tattoo done by a local artist and it wasn't a very good one either. :(

If you really want one done by Chris Garver, then apply via his website, you'd stand more of a chance that way than via the show. They seem to hold castings for it nowadays and with the amount of people who apply, chances are slim to none that you will get picked! All the casting info i've seen lately is for 'young hot females'!

Kat Von D was at the London tattoo convention last year, so also keep any eye for info on this, as you never know, she might turn up again this year.

Apparently the waiting list for a tattoo with the Miami Ink guys is ages long ... although someone coming from the UK especially for a tattoo might be classed as a bit special ...

I'd love to get a tattoo done by Ami or Chris Garver ... but I'm nothing like the 'girls' they usually like to tattoo in the shop! :cry:

We really love this show and think Chris Garver and Kat Von D are the best artists. Ami is brilliant too, but Chris and Kat just seem to have the edge. DH has a few tattoos and would love Kat to do one of her portraits of my face on him. As others have said though, it does seem to be very hard to get one done by them.
