House of Blues Food Report
Friday 2nd December 2005
Diners Bob and Dawn
This was the first day of our weeklong holiday and we were rather tired after the long journey from the UK so this report is quite brief.
We have eaten at the House of Blues on two previous occasions and have always had a good meal. We arrived at the check-in at 7.10pm and were informed there may be a 40minute wait, so we were issued a radio receiver.
It was a very cold night and we both were well wrapped up so we took up a position outside of the HOB opposite the Cirque De Soleil where we waited to be seated.

The HOB plays live music although there was nothing playing during our visit, however we were informed that a band would be playing at 11pm but by that time we would be fast asleep in our villa at Saratoga Springs.

We were called to our seat within half an hour and were handed the extensive, southern states menu. ( http://www.hob.com/venues/clubvenues/orlando/dining.asp)
Food
Starter
Dawn:- Cream of Mushroom Soup.
Bob:- New Orleans-Style Chicken File Gumbo with Andouille Sausage and Okra in a Traditional Brown Roux.

Main Course
Dawn :- Grilled 14 oz. New York Strip Steak with a Bourbon Peppercorn Sauce, Mashed Potatoes and Sautéed Vegetables.
Bob:- Creole Jambalaya with Shrimp, Chicken, Tasso Ham, Andouille Sausage and Roasted Green Onions

The soup and Gumbo starter were excellent and they were both enjoyed very much.
Dawn thought her steak was not as tender of juicy as it could have been even though it was only cooked medium.
I have had the Jambalaya on each occasion that I have visited the HOB and have always enjoyed it very much and this time was no exception.
Tiredness was coming over us quite fast so we decided to call it a night without any dessert.
The bill came to a total of $49.78 including DVC discount of 20% but not including tip.
