In one of our days off from the parks we are thinking of doing the nature trail offered by this stable. We have no experience whatsoever in horse riding :omg: and was wondering if any Dibbers had down this trail and what is your opinion of it?

They do advertise it as suitable for complete beginners.

Thanks.

I am going here in May but will be doing one of the higher level trails, not sure which though, as not sure how good my riding is.
The beginners trail is just walking so non riders should be fine, the horses will be so used to the route they will prob just follow each other, so you shouldnt find it too hard.
I havent been to this stables before, but ft Wilderness logde do trail rides at there ranch, which are also just walking (my friend went a few years back)
Hope that helps

Horse World is excellent. I am an experienced rider but DH is not so we did the beginners ride. I was therefore expecting some ploddy old dobbin but I was pleasantly surprised as the horse I had was way better than that  . I am thinking of going again to do the more advanced ride but I did enjoy the beginners ride. Sometimes it's nice just to sit back and watch the scenery :) .

I found the whole set up very good, friendly and helpful staff and none of the snobbery that you can often get at riding establishments. AND we saw a HUUUGE gator on the way back!!

Sounds like we may have made a good choice for an alternative day to the parks!

Is it English or western?

Do they provide a set of steps to assist getting on the horse? I have limited mobility in my knee joints so wouldn't be able to mount it in the normal way.

They have platforms where you go up about 3 steps and the horses walk through the middle and you get on no bother, you are more level with the horse, when finished you get off the other side. Someone is there to help talk you through it.hope this makes sence:)

It's western style which is waaay easier and comfier (sp?) than English.

I wouldn't recommend shorts as you may find the saddle/stirrups etc may rub your legs. I wore jersey trousers but trakkie bottoms would be fine. No bumbags or backpacks allowed.

No cameras but they do take a picture of you as you leave the stables.

Their website enables you to book online, also there is a $2.00 off coupon :thumbs-up for each person. Just print the coupon and confirmation email they send and present them on the day.

Here's the site http://www.horseworldstables.com/

My brother and my daughter went on this in July a couple of years ago.
They did enjoy themselves but did say you were not allowed to go off the track. Both are very Advanced riders and my brother used to be a Cross Country rider and was used to riding all over Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common, etc.
They said it was fun but they would of liked to be able to go off on a good old galop, etc.

We did have to sign Waiver Forms and they each got their photo taken before the ride set off.

I would recommend it but just don't expect to be able to go galloping off anywhere!!!!
