We are going to Orlando during the first 2 weeks of October and have just noticed that the Universal Parks shut at 6:00pm. I never relised that they closed so early during October. I feel we now have less time than I had previously thought

Does anyone know why the closing time is at 6;00? The price of the tickets does not reflect the opening times compared with other months:angry:

Could it be something to do with Halloween? I know MK closes early some days for their MNSSHP. Maybe Universal do something similar? Just a guess of course:confused2

Don't worry the parks are not so packed and you won't need any longer in the parks. IMHO.
The opening hours in september is till 6.00 too apart from weekends.

I'd imagine it's because of the Halloween Horror Nights.

yeah the halloween horror nights start sometime in sept i think and go throught oct so that is probably why they are closing early
but park is pretty quiet in oct sometimes

It just seems to be their off peak opening times i'm afraid. They closed at that time during our Sept holiday last year.

But as others have said the parks are a lot more quiet so it is easier to get everything done.
I don't remember queuing for more than 10 mins at either park during Sept.:)

When we were there last year in November we were really disappointed that the parks closed so early. We had only been in the summer before then. After all you pay the same for your ticket.

WDW parks are the same though. I was used and am used to the summer hours and the first time i went outwith this time i got a big shock when they closed early. Fantasy in the Sky (fireworks at the time) wasnt on every night and neither was spectro but im better prepared this time.

Will be checking the hours as soon as they as released.

HHN start at 7pm, the early closing is to give them time to set up for the Halloween event. If you buy a Stay & Scream ticket you can stay in the park during this time and have some rides practically all to yourself.

MK also closes early on MNSSHP nights.

Even thought you have less time in the parks, the lower crowd levels mean you will get a lot more done. Have a look at the Universal pics in my October trippie. We had the parks nearly all to ourselves and hardly waited for any rides.

...and Universal was only open until 7pm, considering this was 'peak season' being Easter we were a little disappointed that the parks were not open later. There was no reason for it, the parks were still busy at 7. :(

Just back as well and Seaworld seemed to close really early too. It opened until 10 Easter week, but after that closed at 7pm.
